Always a fun place to be. I know enough physics to know I don't know a lot of physics. I know enough Japanese to know I don't know a lot of Japanese. Biology though, no ing clue outside of knowing a little bit about differential equations often used in it.

Way too many variables to model.
But we try and fail and sometimes get easy things correct.
Which is why I also prefer physics without air and friction. And only really mechanics. Nothing modern, especially the General Theory, because honestly I finally figured out I could never learn the math to get the proper models into my head. You cant use words, they break down. Metaphors and similes break down. Its not like anything... This is what frustrates me about Tyson. He makes these movies and writes to give people a feeling like they know it. But, if you presented someone with a question that took synthesis of his ideas given in a book or movie, you cant answer it. He does not want to turn common folk like me off, but just say it for Gods sake.

Modern conservatives never admit weaknesses in their case, if they are even aware of it. They cherry pick and strawman as a matter of habit. Concealing and distorting is just the way they argue and think, neither of which goes down well in a scientific setting. It's almost as if dishonesty is part of their self-iden y.
