Coronavirus Advice From Abroad: 7 Lessons America’s Governors Should Not Ignore as They Reopen Their Economies

We spoke to frontline experts from around the globe and have compiled a list of recommendations for reopening U.S. states.

    Their consensus?

It’s tough to find policies that

    simultaneously save lives and livelihoods.

While they differ on the details, their views formed a startlingly united consensus of what’s needed:

Massive, ongoing testing to detect where the disease is spreading,

a real-time ability to trace contacts of those infected and isolate them,

a willingness of people to wear masks in crowded public spaces,

reserves of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other equipment for hospital workers to handle any surge in cases,

reliable, easily administered blood tests to find out the number of people who have been infected. If they work well, such tests could eventually be used to identify people with immunity who could work at higher-risk jobs.

    We also asked American experts

whether states can meet all or most of these benchmarks.

Their answers coalesced around a single point:

None of you (the states) are close to being ready.

    https://www.propublica.org/article/coronavirus-advice-from-abroad-7-lessons-americas-governors-should-not-ignore-as-they-reopen-their-economies

The Capitalists, the oligarchy, see NO VALUE in human life, so will push the states HARD to get people back to work and THEIR own wealth back top shape, to pocketing, hoarding 95% of all gains in national wealth.

    100Ks more diseased?

    10Ks more dead"

The Capitalists, the oligarchy, DON'T ING CARE,

like they already don't ing care about 100Ks of Americans who have committed "suicides of despair" from neoliberalism and austerity imposed on the by the oligarchy.

You made the jump yourself tbh.

    Try reading the tweet again.
TSA didn’t read the report so he probably doesn’t know about the phony rallies some pulled back then.

‘Who takes a victory lap on piles of corpses?’:

Trump blasted as ‘sociopathic monster’ for bragging about 65,000 deaths

President Donald Trump is being blasted for his apparent bragging about and celebrating “only” 60,000 to 65,000 coronavirus deaths.

When you look at the possible deaths at 2.2 million people – and it could have very well been that, it could have been more,” the president continued, as he continued to pat himself on the back.

“Frankly I’ve been looking at numbers where it could have been higher than that. 2.2 million people dying. If you figure we lost 500,000, maybe 600,000 in the Civil War, 2.2 million people, a minimum if we did nothing would have been 1.6, if you cut that in half, you’re talking about 800,000 [to] 900,000 – a million people dying.”

“But we did a lot of work,

if it was successful they had between 100,000 and 220,000 to 240,000 on the upside, and

I think we’ll be substantially, hopefully below the ‘100’ number, and I think right now we’re headed probably around ’60,’ maybe 65,000.”

“I always say, ‘One is too many,'” Trump claimed. A Google search turns up no statement of Trump having ever said that.

Trump loves China. Don't let the toothless tariffs and all that fool ya. Dear Leader even has properties over there and his airhead daughter was cutting trademark deals with them.

For those following the IME model's projections, temper expectations (I still think it's useful to get a ballpark idea of trend, but I'd take the upper bound projection as more likely):

In the internet age, how does it violate religious freedom or free speech to limit the number of people in a building?

I mean, is it a violation of religious freedom for churches to have a maximum occupancy limit for fire safety reasons?

But laws/orders/policies (whatever the correct term may be) to fight a pamdemic (Infektionsschutzgesetz in Germany) beats "freedom to assemble" and others to a certain degree!

Because saving lives is a higher goal/good than going to church...

    freedom to assemble
So you don't believe in fire codes I take it (limiting occupants of a structure to certain number)?

We're not like Germany. We're a nation of spoiled children who put our selfish, short term interests above a greater goal.

Broomes' order does not let the churches have services without any restrictions. Instead, he ordered them to abide by recommendations for social distancing that people stay 6 feet apart and to continue following other practices the lawsuit said they had imposed, such as not using collection plates.

    ...

Many Kansas churches have moved services online, but the pastors and churches suing Kelly said they believe God calls them to engage in “corporate” prayer.

    ...

The judge's decision will remain in effect until May 2; he has a hearing scheduled Thursday in a lawsuit filed against Kelly by two churches and their pastors.

Not just the US. China creates the problem and then buys up the worlds supply of PPE, then later marches back to the world as the hero selling it PPE. Near trick. There still playing games supplying PPE.
