Lol libertarians. The 'rona isn't like heart disease and you don't stop it by cutting off that third burger you wanted from Fuddruckers.

Individuals are powerless to stop a pandemic. That's why you need a government to coordinate a response.

Individuals aren't powerless. The main strategies rely on individuals.

The reason we weren't able to test more quickly is because of our over regulated system was reliant on the cdc who botched their test.
The executive can override those regulations in an emergency.

If the executive realizes there is an emergency, like say, being warned by your intelligence agencies in a briefing.

Too bad your cult leader didn't take the threat seriously enough to override those regulations. It was like a ship without anyone at the wheel. Dear Leader went to ralies, golfed and tweeted instead of working.

"next to zero cases" "it will magically disapper" "inject disinfectants" you wits will excuse anything he does.

14 different mutations so far. Damn. This could end up like the Flu where it changes every year and a vaccine doesn't work.

The government is needed to figure out these strategies and it's not needed to make the recommendations.

Beyond that trying to minimize the power of the individual is particularly moronic given the fact that individuals across the country should be striving to make better fitness and dietary decisions in preparation for getting infected.

    called it

    unfortunately

even if not. a vaccine is a long shot.

think about it, it would have to be a beast of a vaccine to convince a healthy young person to take it. and maybe every year?

we cant force ppl to take it. we also cant do a vaccine certificate thing, thats scary utopian scenario

we cant even convince half our population right now to stay home much less take a vaccine

    Collapsing economy

    Collapsing food chain

Let's lockdown till a vaccine and if you don't agree then you want people to die.
That is pretty much it. This thing will have killed several hundred thousand people by the end of the year. You don't think that will have an economic cost? All the hospitalizations? Economists have put a pretty ing large price tag on doing nothing, staying open, and it is bigger than staying shut.

Free market failures means that we don't have sufficient spare capacity in our health care system to absorb any large e in hospitalizations.

We wouldn't need to lock down so much if it weren't for our failed health care system, the most free market one in the world.

Anything else you want to be on about?

Hey, if people can't figure out that blocking travel from China during an emergency is worthwhile then they aren't going figure out which regulations need to be lifted to allow the market to work. That's the reality.

That ramp up of testing a month earlier in South Korea while Trump didn't do is why they're not getting ravaged by COVID like we are.
