To everyone asking about why people are walking around in Texas without masks it's because the state has specifically stated that cities trying to enforce mask rules are unlawful.

    Texas is so ing stupid.

How is Georgia doing? Remember -- they opened too soon?
Won't really know for a while. Come on you're an engineer right, you know how long exponential functions can take to ramp up, plus there is a time delay for the incubation period of this virus. Also the most reliable statistic is deaths and those usually take another 1-3 weeks after the incubation period delay.

South Korea’s new coronavirus cases show the perils of reopening

Just one sick person led to a sudden increase of new infections in South Korea.

    The weekend before last,

    a
29-year-old South Korean man visited five nightclubs in Seoul, where he partied with around 7,200 other people.

Five days later — the same day South Korea relaxed social distancing measures — he
tested positive for Covid-19, becoming the country’s first local infection in four days.

According to South Korean health officials,

    nearly
80 new Covid-19 cases have since been linked to the man’s outing in the Itaewon neighborhood.

    And on Monday, officials announced
35 new confirmed infections — the highest total in about a month —

    of which
29 may have originated from those five nightclubs.

Everyone knows it takes 2 weeks to show symptoms then another 2-3 weeks to die. So I guess we wont know for what? 6 weeks?

No. But it's not clear whether shutdowns are any more effective than masks + social distancing. Climate and population density are probably important factors, too.

Their new cases are flat, even as their testing has ramped up considerably.

Sure they do. Half the reason for wearing masks is to keep people with the virus from spreading it through droplets from their mouths and noses.

    Don't spread fake news.

Haven't seen a single post like this one age well in this pandemic... hoping this is the exception to the rule
