Like I said, it's worrysome. SARS infected 8000 people but it took like 4 months. Two more confirmed cases in US today. is moving around quick.
It's already spreading through the respiratory system like influenza, it doesn't get more infectious than that.
As far as transferrable to more species, it doesn't work that way. It takes a new mutation to infect a different species. That's what this is. Like I said, they believe this one went bats->snakes->humans, now human to human.
lol No

calling it now
tomorrows stocks are gonna be a bloodbath
If a virus causes your body to kill itself it makes no difference.
The virus needs to calm the down like the cold.
Secondary infections are the things that usually get people, not the virus. The virus just helps the environment become a haven for stuff like pneumococcal . You could even say the bacteria does not kill you, it merely drowns you in your own lung fluid.
if containment is not possible, 60-90% of world population will get this
I give containment probability a 50% chance
Oil has already been a bloodbath. WTI down $11/bbl since this started.
Following Luckin (chinese starbucks). Could be a nice buying opportunity coming up if it drops back under $20.
My point was that there are mutations that could make it even harder to stop. If the virus became transferable from humans to different types of birds.
Or if it became transferable by water systems. .
Now 2800 confirmed cases, 80 dead. 40% increase in 12 hours.
2.8% mortality holding steady

Usually takes a good concentration ( er) to infect you.
So viruses in the water systems causing infections is unlikely.
In addition, the virus needs to be in the host. Many don’t do well for 24 hrs outside a host.
But there are some tough guys.
Dilute Bleach on counter tops etc. is the best hammer for viruses and bacteria outside the body. Chlorine is something that you just don’t see these “bugs” actually surviving. They can become resistant to antibiotics (bacteria) but nothing gets past chlorine. Hater needs to take a slug of bleach and see how his cells do. He can probably survive.
Viruses going from non mammals to humans was not a pleasant surprise.
coronavirus isn't a tough one. Few hours on smooth surfaces. As little as 20 minutes on porous surfaces and skin.
edit: just happened to have looked that up earlier lol
are you sure about that? I’m sure I read something the other day that mentioned several days.
Problem is they have fairly delicate receptors that recognize your cells and allow them to attach and inject their genetic material. The protein receptors on the viral surface degrade quickly outside a nice warm fluid environment.
I have not seen anything on this but have not read much.
It is interesting how different press outlets are treating this when it’s still so new.
I can't find the article I read earlier. Was more of a science article, not media.
Found this though...
There is still uncertainty about this virus, but Dr. Greninger said, in general, coronaviruses typically won't survive long on surfaces such as boxes.
Though these types of viruses can survive "a little better" in cold, wet environments like the Pacific Northwest, they usually only survive hours on surfaces.
So, even if you get something shipped from Wuhan, China, you're likely not going to get sick from coming in contact with a package.
The article I read earlier talked about how when they say it remains on surfaces for days it's true because you can swab it and test for the virus but it's no longer infectious, broken strands at that point.
ppl are missing the point
even at this current state the virus would probably be equivalent of a massive flu on a healthy individual. if contagion is not controlled the toll on our medical services and thus other services (food, transport, security, garbage) would be great
scarcity of food and all other problems associated with this not to mention economic
so no, most likely this flu wont kill you but if it becomes pandemic you will suffer 100% sure of this
we must hope it will be controlled. next few days will be key
travel needs to be shut down and WHO needs to call this what it is a global emergency
yep, first it was SARS, then West Nile, then Swine Flu, then Ebola, etc.
as usual, I'm going to take the "I don't give a route", not pay attention, and everyone will have forgotten about this in six months like always
I don't want to be forced into any experimental vaccine like a lab rat. I never take the flu shot and I'm totally fine. I get the flu like once every two years.
This.
I've been getting the flu shot ever since the last time I had the flu in 1987.
Wuhan doctor died of the virus after treating patients:

This is some Chernobyl type goin on

One patient – a suspected super-spreader, or highly virulent carrier of the disease – is thought to have infected 14 staff in one hospital alone, Yuen Kwok-yung, a doctor and infectious diseases specialist at Hong Kong University, said at a press conference.
One of the doctors in Wuhan said putting infected people in hospital with other patients was a major cause of the cross-infections that also reached medical staff. “The patients infected with the coronavirus were scattered across so many hospitals and they were not isolated at the time. Many medical prac ioners became sick because of that,” one of the doctors said. He added that 17 years after Sars, there had been no major improvement in the front-line response to such outbreaks.
u still missing the point ma niga
its not about the flu or a vaccine
if millions get infected the mass panic and forced quarantines/evacuations will send the world to an economic, food and security crisis
ppl forget how fragile our society is.
You remember them.
And if you or a relative got your kicked in you will remember them.
So you will be the lab rat for the live virus.
Good thinking.
They won’t fool you.

And really it’s not about whether you remember them or not.
It’s really just info for comparison. The TV/ internet picture media gonna do what they do, entertain.
Hater has some great pictures of people in space suits with accompanying URGENT.
