Yeah, data is accurate but the context is hidden. Of course we're going to have a lower CFR than those countries who tested less and were only testing critical cases, like the UK. That's why half truths and such are the best propaganda lol

yep. its funny because he tried to play the other side during his interview with chris wallace (which was ing hilarious through and through). he was saying that because we are now testing so much, we are catching mild cases, or "children with sniffles." now he's using that same reality to boast about infection fatality rates. and even then, i dont care if our infection fatality rate is very low if we have a monumentally absurd amount of cases. we have more cases per capita than just about anywhere besides chile

A Doctor Who Specializes in Long-Term COVID-19 Effects Is Alarmed by What He Sees

patients still suffer from COVID symptoms months after their diagnoses

Dr. Zijian Chen, medical director of Mount Sinai’s Center for Post-COVID Care

the center has seen 300 patients who were either COVID-19-positive or presumed positive, and have continued to experience distress.

the wide range of symptoms he’s seeing, the psychological toll of COVID-19’s aftereffects, and his fear that some patients may never recover.

The most prominent of these symptoms is definitely shortness of breath. I would say 60 to 70 percent of our patients are short of breath in one way or the other. Then there is chest pain and chest discomfort, and then neurological symptoms, like fatigue, weakness, poor concentration, poor memory.

most surprising thing I’ve seen is how much psychiatric illness there is — anxiety and depression. There’s a very high percentage of that.

anywhere from 25 to 35 percent of the patients we see are suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD, or something similar.

COVID is unique in that there are so many different body symptoms.

I can’t really think of another illness that’s as traumatic.

Spain, France, UK, Sweden all have higher deaths per million than US but people here keep sucking them off.
    translation:

"other countries that had their outbreaks earlier than we did had more people die than we have in the beginning of OUR outbreak, look how good we are, I don't understand how time works, durr dee durr, (eats boogers and runs into a wall)"

(leans back and thinks a bit) It would explain asymptomatic spread. If you have some mild immunity to begin with, you can keep the virus' reproduction from spiraling out of control while the rest of immune system catches up. The virus is still reproducing at a fast clip before the things that really target them can kick in.

    Speculation:
It may have something to do with a vaccine we all have had, but one developed or widespread in the last 60 years, or that fades over time, akin to tetanus shots that require boosters.

Young children, who all have to have their shots would have much more recent immunity. It would explain both levels of vulnerability.

If that is the case we may already have a vaccine that works at least mildly, but just don't know it.

If one has had one of the several human corona viruses as simple cold or flu:

... then T-cells have have been primed for C19 having been stimulated by other non-fatal coronaviruses

As FAILED STATE USA continues to have 10Ms of bad-faith, anti-govt assholes

who refuse masks and distancing, the REPUG so-called govt FAILS to provide enough testing, rapid results testing, and contact tracing

    RIP Trump country

The valley in South Texas is getting crushed.
    this is not trump country.
it’s a bunch of poor Hispanic communities, go figure.

amazingly this virus is also killing Democrats in Texas.

Republican in the hospital with COVID-19 after suggesting virus is a ‘hoax’ and preaching at maskless church service

Arkansas State Sen. Jason Rapert (R)

has a known history of downplaying the coronavirus,

even pushing narratives on social media that describe it as a “hoax.”

Now, he’s contracted the virus after appearing as a guest preacher at Sanctuary of Hope church in Branson, Missouri about two weeks ago.

According to a post on his Facebook page this Thursday, Rapert is in the hospital “after being diagnosed with pneumonia and

    testing positive for Covid-19.”

“We have all been doing our best to wear a mask,

    social distance

and be careful like everyone else.

    This virus is serious

and can attack anyone regardless of age or general health,” he added.

Current coronavirus wave 'could continue through the winter'

now it's looking more likely that the first wave will continue for months,

There are no waves. Without lockdown and actually ramping up testing and contact tracing to actually accomplish something with a lockdown it's probably not hitting a lull until it infects a significant proportion of Americans.

NY population density made it extraordinarily vulnerable.
Also being a major hub for the transport of people.
Sadly the warmer weather did the opposite possibly of what it was supposed to, it kept people in close contact inside.

But when people decided to cram together anyway in the South, they burst the chance they had.
Our federal government was extraordinarily counter productive almost the entire way. (under the orange, who gave up trying to talk it down)

That you think this is somehow comforting is really weird, considering that NY was the previous epicenter and had like -- half the deaths overall? Is that right?

If all these "hot spot" states were having 1K deaths per day, it would be horrific. But, that's not the case.

Pardon me if I don't share your sense of the diminishing marginal disutility of death.

Exactly what threshold of death do you deem tolerable? 168 is the TX death toll today.

For how long will that be tolerable?

Do you think that frequency will increase in the winter months? Will it be tolerable then if it is just a thousand deaths a day, instead of a hundred a day, because someone exceeded that daily count somewhere else?

Before I say anything else, what you just said is one of the creepiest things I have ever witnessed with my own eyes.
