Very liberal use of the word "healthy" here

30 year old spends 94 days in hospital

There are probably a number of reasons that Japan and S.Korea have such low mortality, but I'm sure one reason is lower rates of obesity.
There are a large number of differences between countries. Better health care delivery, COVID-19 testing, social tracing and compliance with non-medical interventions like masking and social distancing make a difference too.

Too bad these still aren't priorities for our federal government. We've had piss poor national leadership on COVID-19.

They'll continue to ignore the obvious when it's staring them in the face because team sports.

No other country has such a significant portion of the population who, emboldened by the performative skepticism of their leader, deny the risk of COVID and refuse to take simple precautions that can contain its spread.

And old aspect of Trumpism goes back to St Ronnie The Diseased Useful Idiot:

"Government isn't the solution. Government is the problem"

The oligarchy/Repugs/right wing hate media have been indoctrinating the USA to hate and distrust govt for decades.

Corollary: nothing good can come from govt, ONLY private sector can produce the good.

so destroy govt, and privatize everything, so Capitalists can wealth-suck the country into dysfunction and despair.

So another Repug Useful Idiot comes along and "I'll drain the swamp", the Trumpists had been primed for decades to swallow his lying .

Are you more likely to be infected if you're obese though? How you account for that?

More likely to have a bad outcome, if you are infected.

Right, but we rank #6 worldwide in number of infected per million people. Countries that didn't get as many deaths also rank much lower in number of infected per million.

Obviously, if you're not infected, you're not going to die from COVID.

Rudy Giuliani just told a dangerous lie to Trump voters

“People don’t die of this disease anymore,”

    Giuliani said, according to
    The Philadelphia Inquirer,

“adding that Democrats were overblowing COVID

because they wanted to frighten people.”

    Tokyo is.
Japan is a very small densely populated country.
trying to achieve the same thing in the US is much much more difficult

in fact it’s not going to happen until a workable vaccine is produced.
and even then the anti vaccination group is significant in both parties.

Where did you see that? Hard to imagine Japan being 60% to 70% infected.

    that's not a guess
You're assuming at least two unknowns, the accuracy of the antibody study and the herd immunity level for COVID-19.
