At least 35 states have criminal laws that punish HIV-positive people for exposing others to the virus, even if they take precautions such as using a condom. Should the states do the same with COVID?
They've already set the precedent for frivolous lawsuits. See cdc recommendations and liability. Quarantine of the healthy is uncons utional.

Yes. If were a governor and I had the ability to, I’d make it so being a Karen and trying to walk into a grocery store without a mask on is punishable with jail time.

Color commentary based strawman aside, you moved the goalpost from strategy to policy.
Not sure the two are mutually exclusive, given that states can't deficit spend and frankly don't have the resources or the ins utional capacity to deal with extraordinary pandemics. You don't read and retain information too well, it seems.

There at least 13 oyster related felonies punishable in Texas.

How often do you think they are enforced?

    Every day is WW infinity

    called it
Observed number of unweighted deaths, United States, for 2020 period (weeks ended 1-4 through 10-17):
    2,491,625

    https://data.cdc.gov/NCHS/Excess-Dea...D-19/xkkf-xrst

    Sort data top level:
    "type"
    sort data second level:
    "state"

Take total of column C (observed) for data subset: unweighted type (column N), state (column B) "United States".

Add in OBNR factor of 20% for the last six weeks, (61k deaths occurred but not reported) for the same period, and you get:
    2,553,383

Assume that previous 41 week average holds, including 6 week OBNR factor: (62277 average)

    3,238,437 deaths for all weeks.

Five days in that total are for days outside of 2020 period. Apply discount of 5/371>>>> 1-(5/371)

    3,194,792

    3.2-
    2.8
    ==========
    400k

400/2800 = 14.3% e in total deaths from all causes. Given the pandemic didn't really kick in until a few months in, that is pretty bad. COVID will end up being the 3rd leading cause of death this year.

You mean like an agency that states respect and follow? We could call it the Centers for Disease Control.
    No you cant.
Not when the orange man purposely sabotages federal agencies.
Grow up. Anyone could have made a mistake on this early. All sorts of health agencies did because it was so new. But to then completely ignore and attempt to control the data as well so it cant even be criticized. To purposely create chaos... Thats where you have cast yourself... Honest broker.

Dont plow this in the dirt, nothing will grow from it.

    CDC is bad... muh guns...

They called it SARS early on. They knew how to deal with SARS. You're a ing idiot or liar if you wish to claim the CDC didn't consider the effectiveness of masks against spread from asymptomatic carriers. Why do you think people would panic and buy them all up? Because even though they aren't ing virologists for the CDC, they had enough sense to make that connection.

Experts warn Trump’s administration is ‘endangering people’

by covering up COVID-19 hospitalization data

the Trump administration is withholding from the public critical hospital data that experts say would be extremely useful in helping communities prepare for, track, and overcome Covid-19 outbreaks.

“The do ents show that detailed information hospitals report to HHS every day is reviewed and analyzed—

but circulation seems to be limited

to a few dozen government staffers from HHS and its agencies,

including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Ins utes of Health,”

“Only one member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Adm. Brett Giroir, appears to receive the do ents directly.”

With all the emphasis on hand hygiene, masking, social distancing and getting the flu vaccine, it kinda makes sense that flu cases could be significantly down this year.
