I understand your point. Seeing CNN transition overnight from most important issue or our time - to - watching a map with red and blue dots; illustrates how it was used for political gain. To demolish the economy and force the need for mail in ballots.
I don't agree that this was some vast Leftist media strategy to exploit the coronavirus for political gain and to harm the economy for the purpose of hurting Trump's reelection chances. The reason is because Trump was actually handed a guaranteed reelection bid on a silver platter because of the coronavirus. The whole "wartime president" concept. Look how his approval rating was closing the gap in April, when he was acting somewhat rational in his response to the crisis.

The problem was that Trump and his team couldn't see the forest for the trees. As the virus was raging through the Northeast and upper-Midwest and the stock market crashing, Trump panicked, stupidly believing that his best chance at reelection was going into the cycle with a record setting DOW. So he started going on tweet storms about liberating lockdown states, spinning fantasies about every church being filled on Easter, endorsing unproven therapeutics, not setting an example by wearing a mask, and host of other actions that tried to minimize the severity of the virus because he was hyper-focused on the economy and appealing to the "Freedumb" segment of his base. Polls have shown that the coronavirus is the number one issue of concern for Americans.
The opposition media didn't have to do anything to hurt Trump in this regard. He did it all himself. All he had to do was defer to experts (who have been provably correct) and wear a in' mask. That's it. He does that, and MAGATs are basking in liberal tears right now watching Trump secure a second term.

there are also vaccines that bypass the e protein and work in a very different manner.

Joe Biden plans to announce his 12-person coronavirus task force on Monday, two sources with knowledge told CNN.
The task force will reportedly be lead by three cochairs:
Former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy,
former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner David Kessler and
Yale University’s Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith.
Some context:
The announcement, which will come just days after Biden was projected to win the presidential election,
signals how seriously he plans to focus on the coronavirus pandemic from the outset of his transition.
Biden is not expected to announce cabinet nominations for weeks and may wait until control of the Senate is clear,
