My grandmother died of pneumonia (from regular flu) in the 1980s. It's a particularly horrible death.

Not to scare ayone, but true.
    It is truly horrible.
They rattle and make horrible guttural noises.
    Drown in their own fluid.

Take comfort in knowing you are wrong. Government and quality of HC makes a world of difference, they won't all be the same. I don't get how you're presuming they will. Go to a country with socialized medicine and try to compare their waiting rooms to those in the states.
I have. While it's not the same everywhere, they're actually not that different. I would actually attest that the average time to get help in the ER is probably worse in the US (and I'm not even including cost, which is many times higher).

Dems care so much about the virus they added their poison pill agenda. I'm sure there will be a lot of outrage from the fair and balanced people around here.

How is paid sick leave unrelated to the virus?

    Justin Trudeau's wife tests positive.
The amount people with the virus would seemingly be very high based on all the famous people that have it now.

They are trying to implement a permanent policy for a temporary problem.

I know you try too hard to appear intelligent and desperately want someone to acknowledge it.. somewhere.
Projecting is obviously another of your many contradictions.

I don’t belabor discussion on subjects I know little about.
You try too hard to pretend you know subjects you don’t. I told you to just stop, but you insisted on getting punched in the face.

Maybe this post will DP as well thereby giving you a peg leg to feel sturdy again.

If we are going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things — praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts — not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They might break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.

Famous people interact with more people and travel much more than the average person.

Probably math... there's ~70 million of our population that is 60+ years old. At 2% death rate that's 1.4 million (and 2% is relatively low considering that's the most risky segment).

That assumes the entire elderly population gets it?

It assumes a good size of the other 250 million that are left will also get it, and some will contribute to the total count (at less than 2% rate).

But that's exactly what that tweet was talking about. Without early measures to avoid spreading this thing around, you will have a high rate of infections.
