Now that you acknowledge it's never going away tell how you think we will stop it from mutating
We can't stop people dying on roadways.

Therefore speed limits and drunk driving laws are pointless.

    Caution is for the weak.

We need to stop people from driving until nobody dies on the roadways. Then we can start driving again unless someone dies in a car accident, then we have to stop driving again.

    It's logical

Google already has a mandate, federal mandate is coming Thursday. Frequent COVID testing is an option for those who still don't want to get the jab.

amazing that old folks homes don't demand that their staff to be vaccinated

How many medical help, who watched 1000s suffer and/or die, will quit rather than be vaccinated?

If you quit, no unemployment pay

Well, by God, if you'd uncross your fingers, toes, and eyes, perhaps lots of "many."

lol Adam Lambert's obtuse, dishonest analogy didn't bother you at all

Still waiting for one of you geniuses to tell me how we're going to stop future mutations which escape antibodies considering applying antibody pressure is what leads to escape.

Gibraltar was the first nation to have 100% vaccination, no variants there right?

The goal isn't to fully stop mutations (though it would be ideal), nobody here argued for that.

What we can do and need to strive for is reduce the surface where mutations can happen in order to slow the process down, so we're not one pandemic after the next and we have more time to come up with more effective vaccines and treatments against the virus.

is there any threshhold of death, disability and suffering that might cause you to reconsider your wishful thinking?

I'm pretty sure I've already been exposed to delta.

I mean, sure. That'd be swell. In the meantime, that's not the case and there are things we can do until that hopefully happens.

It gets who it gets, tbh.

Its not in the virus' best interest to kill its host. From evolutionary perspective, it would be best to be highly contagious, but less virulent.

do you think viruses operate on the basis of rational self-interest?

    if not, what's your point?

It already is the 5th HCoV. We have to adapt to it not the other way around. We'll adapt to it through repeated infection and/or vaccination.

In the meantime, stock up on listerine.

I understand that viruses evolve. I was just wondering why you think COVID will evolve how you want it to.
