The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said that there were 5,352 new cases of COVID and 70 deaths over the past 24 hours, each a record high for the country in the nearly two-year-long outbreak.

South Korea’s COVID death toll now stands at 3,809, while new daily cases topped 5,000 three times this week.

The troubling numbers come despite a high vaccination rate and widespread compliance with mask policies among South Koreans.

First world problems I guess... would kill for the US to have those record highs, tbh...
Snakeboy falling for det media spin again.

Countries with low average BMI have low death rates. Just a coincidence

You already folded three times in that conversation.

Do you want to fold again?
You crying that your friends won't listen to you is a win in your mind

Still mad at me about it

Why won't your friends listen to you?

    Be specific

Sorry, you claim I lied to them.

All Biden had to do is a hard lockdown and impose strict border control. Do you wish he had done that?

Well, SK has half the population of Japan, and 1/5 of the COVID deaths. What's the next excuse?

This largely predates Brandon, tbh... SK largely did things right from the get go, including contact tracing, among other things.

Meanwhile, here in third world country, we had people laughing at South Korea for the long lines to get masks back in the day...

I know where the goalpost is getting moved next... "well, you couldn't do this in the US because X and Y"... just a matter of time.

    Elderly population.

Age and obesity are the two highest risk factors.

i'll answer it as soon as you answer the question you've been dodging for days.

You claimed I lied to this person.

What lies did I tell this person?

Be specific in backing up your claim about this private conversation you know so much about.

That applies evenly to the entire world, not just Japan or South Korea. It doesn't explain why South Korea has so much fewer fatalities that a lot of other first world countries.

Didn't work so great for people who lost loved ones.
Public health didn't work for those who died, very true.

There was never going to be a country with zero deaths from SARS-CoV-2. Are you saying that public health policy makes no difference, because people died?

What explains why Taiwan is doing so much better than South Korea?

Full disclosure: Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are all doing remarkably well
