    Tony Parker by age 24:

    RS: 19/6 on 52%, 2x All-Star
    PO: 21/6 on 48%, 3x Champion, 1x FMVP

    Dejonte Murray at age 23:

tony parker is the second or third greatest PG of all time, kind of an unfair comparison tbh..this team's horrid construction and anti 3 pt stance for anybody that isn't forbes or belinelli is as much if not more to blame for murray's shortcomings..

Murray is coming off of a devastating knee injury, on a role player contract.

Parker is a hall of famer and got paid a lot more. Murray is not the problem. It's popovich and his washed up ways

Actually, Tony Parker had already been playing professional basketball (like most Europeans ) since the age of 15 or 16, and he too couldn't shoot, and had to learn how to be a point guard that could run a offense and get others involved. Parker was a scoring point guard.
Dejounte (no fault of his), needs a veteran point guard to teach him how to be a point guard. He didnt get a chance to really learn under Parker, between the Parker injury and Gleague, Dejounte has been on his own. I dont count Mills because he is a shooter. The Spurs need(ed) a old point guard to be a mentor ;one as the 15th man, or on the coaching staff, like Nick Van Exel was on the Grizzlies staff.

That is so true, 2 years ago he had Tony and Manu. This year he has patty mills who isn't a point guard, and Derrick white who is learning himself.

Jamal Crawford is still roaming around free agency. He isn't a point guard but he closely resembles who dejounte can be in his prime and can help him along the way. He's been mentoring him for years anyway and is close with lamarcus too

Welcome to a new era, tbh

Actually letting TP9 go to Charlotte was the start of bizarre PATFO moves the last few years tbh.
He could have easily started for another year and the money... ing ...let the guy retire at home

I miss having a scoring PG who could actually FINISH at the rim.
They should have kept TP9 around just for that...to teach the kids how to FINISH

Patfo has dished out stupid money to Gasol/Mills and players like Carroll..it makes NO sense

He was not 24 when he won his third championship, as the OP claims. He was 25.

Parker >>> murray and thats fairly obvious to anyone with a brain.

That said, the OP is a notorious stat cherry picker.

He lists all of parkers accomplishments through age 24, including the 07 le and fmvp which came at age 25. but he only posts parkers statline for 07 regular season, and even then he is generous (18.6pts, 5.5 ast regular season become 19/6 for example).

worse still he compares it to murrays age 23 regular season numbers, and his age 21 season play off numbers, and makes no mention of murrays strengths, rebounding and defense. its just so cheap and unnecessary.

since i have a slow ass day at work, lets do the reverse for s and giggles to annoy this idiot:

Dejounte murray age 21: 8 pts, 6 reb, 2nd team all defense

Tony parker age 19: 9 pts, 3 reb, no accolades

murray doesn't have a player like timmy to lead the way either.

obviously parker was better but still, without Tim, you can change Parkers 3x champion to 0 championships
