The black vote is pretty critical in the primaries, but the electoral college pretty effectively suppresses its influence in a general election. The only states a black man's vote in a general election has much real bearing are Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Michigan, and Florida, and Trump carried them all but Virginia. But all those votes from very black parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas that are so critical in the primary are rendered worthless by the electoral college. As long as the electoral college is around targeting black voters is a losing strategy IMO. I think Bernie is pretty strong myself since his message resonates in the rust belt. Plus old Jews in Florida would be able to elect the first Jew president. And the anti-semites are already Trump voters anyways.
Bernie has the one thing Trump has and that is a loyal cult like hard core base. The only difference I see with Trump core and Bernie's is Bernie's core is Bernie or bust, Trump'c core will go with whoever it takes to keep the Dem's out of the WH unless that person is someone Trump hates and commands them not to support whoever it may be.
It’s a great anti-Trump ad but that’s it. It’s abundantly clear that in order to beat Trump the Democratic candidate needs to have a campaign that goes beyond “TRUMP BAD!”, and so far that’s all Bloomberg’s campaign has consisted of.
