People (at least white people) are nervous as about replicating 2016 and picking a candidate who loses to Trump so they’re more indecisive and unsure about things than they’ve ever been in a primary. If you look at exit polling most of Buttplug’s voters didn’t decide on him until the last minute and likely did so after the message of him being “electable” had been crammed down their throat leading up to Election Day.
Its why I’m still hopeful Bernie can pull it out - his supporters vote for him because they like him and the other candidates are all trying to run on the platform of “I might be a total piece of but I’m electable.” At some point the candidate who actually inspires more people should win out.
