You guys know that republicans are voting for Bernie in primaries, right?
You guys voted for Obama over Clinton in the 2008 primaries when Limbaugh told you to also.

Democrats voted for Reagan in the 1980 primaries and Trump in the 2016 primaries. The fact you think that’s some kind of smoking gun is re ed.

Republicans assume everyone in America has the same views they have so the assume everyone will be as scared of a Sanders presidency as they are. That’s why the my think Biden and Bloomer are amazing candidates.
Don't forget when Republicans voted Obama over Clinton in 2008.

Carlson’s coverage of the 2020 primary has been surprisingly good imo...he was dead on when he said the debate wasn’t going to do anything for Warren.

calling Warren “mistress Warren” to imply Bloomer is into BDSM.

Seems like Rush flip flopped later in the primary. But CNN's exit polling had Republicans picking Obama 53 / 46 over Clinton in the Texas primary.

No way in Republicans are voting against Trump. He has a 90%+ favoribility among them.
Among those willing to still call themselves Republicans for polling purposes, yes, his approval rating is historically high.

Trump probably did that on purpose to get a reaction out of her. I mean everything he’d done up to that point had been unorthodox anyway. I was just surprised that he was able to get so many sound bites against her and catch her in so many gotcha moments.
    I thought exactly the opposite.
    he was horrible

But he won the election despite my perceived middle school name calling debate tactics.
I now get that the tactics were exactly what his staunchest supporters wanted.
(Which is why Spurtunculus is addressed as an incel who loves the sex lives of men stories.
He understands this type of communication.)

ah, as i've read up, the caucus system is different than primaries. the 15% rule is applied on a district by district basis in a caucus, as opposed to state-wide as in a primary

Sanders complimented Cuban education, Obama did the same five years ago and shook Raul Castro's hand, I guess we're all still confused about whether he's an actual commie, right?
I guess is a good thing Bernie already got elected president and shouldn’t worry about blowback so you’re right of course.

He’ll have it staged with soft ball questions that he knows are coming...not a chance he opens himself up to the risk of insurgents showing up with gotcha questions.
    He canceled the town hall.

    Smartest move he could make.

there's going to be a debate tomorrow... and you can bet that following nevada, everybody is going to come out, guns blazing to take a shot at sanders. and they will have some material to work with given the 60 minutes interview.

makes sense for bloomberg to stay out of the spotlight until everybody has a chance to lay into sanders

will be interesting to see how sanders responds to the onslaught

Bernie will take Bloomberg's spot on tonight's town hall so it will come up tonight. He can put the comment to bed with a throughout response and a complete rebuke without bringing up "the good part about x."

The country is like 30% dems, 30% republican, and 40% independent. It's quite a gamble to hope that the majority of those independents will vote for the most leftist dem candidate in history. That's why centrist dems (what few remain) are freaking out.
I think it's closer to 35% dems, 25% republicans and 40% independents... that's why democrats generally have the upper hand in the federal popular vote...

However, about half of that 40% very likely leans one way or another. I would put truly independents closer to the 20% (and they can still decide elections).

Mark my words. If Sanders is the candidate, there will be massive turnout in people 45+ against him.

    You can bump this later.
Hopefully a lot of them die before the election, tbh

15% rule is applied district by district in primaries too....there are certain delegates allocated statewide and delegates allocated to each district.

I don’t disagree with you but Bernie needs to be cognizant of the double standard he’s going to face because he labels himself as a socialist and the risk of that turning into smear attacks where he’s labeled as a commie. He’s being a stubborn old man by refusing to let go of the literacy thing when he needs to be a politician who’s willing to ignore history in exchange for votes.

Also, it wouldn’t have mattered given how much of a landslide the election was but you can bet that had Obama said this during his 2008 campaign the “Muslim from Kenya!” crowd would have been all over it and taking it out of context to label Obama a communist. It’s a little different to say it during the final year of your 2nd term.

so Bernie should let the hateful, bad-faith, LYING, slandering Repug/rightwinghatemedia/Trash, playing to American ignorance, determine who he is?

No he shouldn’t but when he makes these comments it’s what he’s doing. Don’t give them ammunition that they can misconstrue and take out of context.

this is the same exact thing rightwingnuts are doing now

the ONLY advantage Obama had back then is he was black and young thats it

if you close your eyes Bernie sounds like an Obama on steroids thats what this country needs
