there's also legitimate concern that biden's campaign is too similar to what hillary's was. running as a continuation of obama, and orange man bad. biden has less baggage but is more gaffe prone. we had concerns about hillary but diminished capacity wasn't among them
I definitely have concerns about Biden's candidacy, but I honestly believe he could run an identical campaign to Hillary and still win based on turnout (and maleness, and not being named Hillary Clinton) alone. I'm not sure he could run a worse campaign than hers, and I hope I don't find out what that looks like, but that's the only way I see him losing.

The 2018 midterms had the biggest voter turnout in a midterm election since 1914.

I'm telling y'all, the election is either going to be about beating Trump or it's going to be about beating socialism. I feel better about the former as an overall theme, personally.
    you may well be right

it's just frustrating waiting for 4 years only to yet again be in the position to hold my nose and vote for somebody that i dont particularly believe in... and in the good scenario where he wins, i'm going to have to do the same thing 4 years later

These. It's mind boggling that many posters don't understand that Bernie is as seriously flawed a candidate as Joe. The flaws are different but both are there to largely the same extent.

i think warren would have been close to bulletproof as soon as the "Pocahontas" novelty wore off

she's no spring chicken, but she's still sharp as a tack, smart as a whip, etc etc

isn't prone to gaffes when speaking, doesnt have political baggage, has gotten things done

Yeah I don't think I've hid my support for her. She would crucify Trump in the debates, is progressive enough without being bat insane or wanting to topple the economy, and is competent and facile enough to actually get done. I don't understand the import of all the "gaffes" shes made over the campaign, but I leave that to you all to hash out since they don't matter to me none.

other than not calling herself a socialist, how are her policies not as "bat " as bernie's though? she's for medicare for all, she's for loan forgiveness, she's for tuition free college, she's for a wealth tax.

granted, on M4A she has a more dragged out plan with the public option stepping stone... but she's still said that she ultimately supports M4A and wants to end private insurance. in fact, her M4A plan places an even higher burden on employers and the wealthy, while sanders spreads some of the burden onto the middle class

She doesn't want to outright ban the types of contracts that account for 75% of my work, for starters. And the majority of her M4A plan is funded by things like taxes on large corporations and the financial sector. She's a self-proclaimed capitalist and understands how the system works (she wrote the textbook for my law school's bankruptcy law class).

are you familiar with her position re: forced (mandatory) arbitration clauses in contracts?

The main planks of Warren’s updated anti-corruption plan are similar to the bill she released last year, but there are several major updates, including banning forced arbitration clauses and class action waivers for all employment, consumer protection, an rust, and civil rights cases. The most recent update tightens ethics rules for judges, and gives judges less leeway to personally decide whether or not they can recuse themselves on certain cases.

the gap between warren and sanders when it comes to domestic policy is not nearly as large as you might think. she calls herself a capitalist and he calls himself a democratic socialist, and that nominal difference is largely the extent of it, tbh

there are some differences... if i recall correctly her loan foregiveness plan is something like 50k in forgiveness to each student, as opposed to complete foregiveness for all, etc. you'l find small differences, but she's basically a more presentable version of sanders when it comes to policy

i also think she's sharper and better with details as far as implementation (with an exception being her proposed M4A funding, which is a less realistic plan than bernie's, imo)

I'm fine with all that. Go back and read the comments I made re: arbitration clauses. None dealt with these scenarios.

    If you say so.

We disagree about the significance of those differences.

Biden’s even going to pick up a delegate in Vermont. This is over.

Congrats moderates. Start brainstorming reasons for how this is actually Bernie’s fault when Biden s his pants during the debates and loses to Trump.

Trump won’t debate Biden. Not a chance. Because he would get humiliated. He would rather face Sanders by a mile.

Chill. I mean, yeah, they're going to steal this at the convention, but Bernie is taking the majority of delegates tonight in all likelihood. Cali, Texas (although it might be damn compe ive), OK, Mass, Maine, Minny, Utah, and Colorado are likely to go to Sanders. , it's possible he pulls up an upset in Ark, and may be compe ive in Tennessee. Let's not blow our loads either way. Still a long night ahead of us.

Biden leads Trump overall and check the race in Texas between the two. It’s dead close
