I’m safe
Low ceiling perhaps but he should be a solid contributor and is more NBA ready than Samanic.
He can already shoot the 3 at a good clip and he plays D. Needs to get in the weight room and add some weight but I see a future solid rotation piece tbh.
, typo on the last name.
He can be our new LDN over time, tbh.
Interesting take... Suns may have drafted the wrong 'Johnson'.

See Coby White's reaction:

Wait... maybe RC also made the same mistake, thinking this Johnson was a 6'9" forward... not a guard!
This kid is going to be good for the team.
Hes barely taller than Lonnie in todays practice video
and seems (from DDR trade rumors) that both could be used as our next (very) small forwards this coming season...
He's barely taller than Lonnie in terms of combine measurements too. He's taller than PJ Tucker though. As noted before, Johnson's body's weirdly shaped. He has a standing reach of 8-8 despite being 6-6. That reach is only three inches shorter than Samanic's, but Luka is five inches taller and has a inch on Keldon in terms of wingspan. Actually, if Keldon is a two, he has the longest standing reach of any SG. It wouldn't be true to say that Johnson's reach makes him not undersized to play the three. He's below average there too. But there are SFs and even PFs he beats out like Cam Johnson and Brandon Clarke. His strength and bulk seem like more important factors to consider rather than his height. That said, he might not be able to start unless he can move down to SG, and let's just say I hope that there will be at least two guys on the team that deserve to play there more than him.
I agree Keldon's standing reach is important when looking at what and who hes capable of guarding and the kind of defender he projects to be.
Generally i think:
Height = matters least if your wingspan or standing reach is above average, you dont guard people with your head
Standing reach = useful as in when the opposing player is going to take a shot over you, they will have to arc it higher thus if a defender has good measurements with this and is a good defender, theoretically whoever theyre guarding should have low fg%. Derrick White has an exceptional standing reach for a point guard no?
Wingspan = important for steals, disrupting passing lanes (Kawhi/ Dejounte)
So i think Keldon projects to be a positional defender (like Danny Green and Derrick White) for the wing spots (sg/sf) vs someone who wreaks havoc on passing lanes like Dejounte and Kawhi
The Coby White reaction was pretty fake IMO. He was surprised dude went that high as a role player with 4 years in college. Maybe Suns FO really did up
I think that was a real reaction, the dude doesn’t seem very bright (athletes don’t go to class at UNC).
