it was weak. he even played the "communism" card which the audience didnt care for, and quite frankly, was moronic

the "millionaire with 3 houses" line was a solid quip but ultimately lacks substance, as sanders has never said he is against people making money and enjoying it.

Exactly, Bloom needed to make it more a comedic hit & let (us) judge it otherwise, but, he's impatient & bored out of his mind. & Warren hit him again for it...something to the effect:::"He'll be fine once he gets back outside and can spend $100 million on swag."
Wouldn't have matter. That was one small jab among a beatdown that he received. He was dead and then they still went back to skull his corpse.

Bloomberg is 78, and he has more money than he knows what to do with. He's running for his own ego first and foremost, IMO. Though who knows for sure? These billionaires are some serious narcissistic mother ers who often know no bounds to their excesses.
    solid point.

but it doesnt explain why he's so strongly anti-bernie if it's purely about ego. you dont really see him railing on anybody else to nearly the same degree

and i dont think i meant he's afraid that he's going to go broke (its a stupid fear for billionaires that taxes are going to take away their standard of living)... but rather than sanders' election would be a rebuke of "the billionaire" and it's somewhat personal for him. its not his bank account thats really in jeopardy, its a legacy thing. his way of life is being called into question

Well, he's the frontrunner; he has to offer contrast or he's toast. That and Bernie doesn't want the kind of socialism he wants per se.

Bloomberg doesn't care who's rebuking him if he's getting his. Like you say, he'd just support Trump or Buttplug or whomever if that was a paramount concern. Dude's feeling left out; Trump's having all the fun he should've had in his mind. All these billionaires are insanely jealous of him. Dude likes attention; he named a news network after himself.

Your first good post in ST history.

But then again, why do you support trump?
My support for Trump is relative. I have my issues with him; but it's all in the legit nitty gritty and not the stupid stuff you chumpettes like to get so triggered about.

Yeah I actually agree here, this is definitely his primary motivation with stopping Bernie/Warren as the 2nd fiddle reason. He clearly has this grossly inflated view of himself where HE’S the guy who can beat Trump despite the fact he’s getting ed in every hole during the Nevada caucus debate. Anyone as rich as he is would develop a huge ego over time and it’s showing now.

bloomberg isn't afraid of sanders getting the nomination because of the prospect of him losing to trump.

he's afraid of the prospect of him beating trump
That's what scares Democrats too. The prospect of having to honor the demands of labor, women and minorities has them running to Bloomberg, a liberal Republican.

The Dems have been pissing backwards on Democratic voters for a generation. Eventually something's gotta give.

    what "something"?

Dems abandoned Labor, because the Dems were corrupted by Capital. In America, the oligarchy's money talks, nobody walks without it.

republicans like him for obvious reasons. it would be like joe manchin changing parties and then running for president as a republican. i'm sure democrats would love that, because it creates a pretty optimal "worst case scenario"

as for why he polls well... its sad to say, but ads work. not everybody reads up on politics daily and are that invested in it.

purely anecdotal, but my sister is among those. she doesnt follow politicals news, but generally identifies as liberal because she aligns that way on the basic social issues (abortion, gay marriage, gun control). her husband, my bro in law, is very passionate about this stuff and keeps up as much if not more than i do. definitely more well read, generally. was talking to him the other day and he said they both early voted (CA). he sent his ballot in for sanders, with my sister voting for steyer. i started laughing and asked why. he said "she said i dont know, i kinda like his commercials"

was funny/sad but realistically reflects more voters than we'd like to think

    It's the truth.
