NC isn't going blue. NC and Indiana in '08 were a first-black-prez fluke.
A good candidate would have won it.

Hillary came within 3 points and if you see Gary Johnson's numbers along with the wasted votes that went into write ins, there you got the votes.

NC is a battleground state where a vote means something, so is worth considering when picking a candidate. Unlike most of those other states Reck mentioned.

You supported her then but now you act like it was a stupid choice, until I called you out then you act like it was a logical choice. Make up your transitioning mind.

I didn't vote. I said so immediately. You'd have known if you weren't busy high-tailing it upstairs to lick your wounds.

You’re stupid. You didn’t point anything out that wasn’t already obvious.

Many people, almost all of ST who despise her voted for her because the other choice was worse.

looking for arguments this late at night. Go watch your shemale porn fattie.

    2016 and Hillary =/= 2020 and Bernie
    77000

Trump is less popular now than when he got elected.

Bernie is vastly more popular than Hillary was. Millenials tend to break overwhelmingly Democrat, and there are more of them eligible to vote now than there are living baby boomers.

It will be populist v. populist who hasn't done in four years.

Yeah I read that. Makes a lot of sense in today's political climate with crap turnout, the electoral college, and a Republican propaganda machine dominating radio, cable "news", and local news.
That article put a frame on an idea that I had sort of grasped intuitively. It was an "aha" moment, about the same as watching PM Barnett talk about the concepts underpinning The Pentagons New Map.

Next election will be about turnout, and that overwhelmingly favors the Democrats this time around. That will surprise the out of a lot of the people in the deluded right-wing media bubble, some of which have swallowed the line about the Democratic party being destroyed by Trump.

Communism also has a lot of support among younger Americans. That combined with Bernie effectively paying people to vote for him explains a lot tbh
Not communism, but they certainly aren't scared by the "socialist" boogeyman, Prager U propaganda notwithstanding.

yep. i've been saying for some time that as long as our voter participation rate reminds ty, driving turnout (ie tapping into the base) is more effective than trying to win over people in the middle. why go through the hassle of "winning over" voters when you have millions of voters at home that you can just energize?
A good progressive candidate will do just that.

NC is pink, not purple. '08 was an anomaly. It's not a battleground state except in a Democrat blue wave year like '08.

Baby boomers were overwhelmingly liberal until they grew up (into their thirties and beyond) and started having families and realizing there are more important things in the world than hippie hopey changey bullcrap. The left wing culture of the late '60s and early '70s was far more radical than those of millennials today.

Same thing will happen for millennials. In 40 years the young adults will be ing about how right wing those "darn millennials" are.

Possibly depending on how good/bad things will be for millennials economically. If in 20 years millennials are still buried in student loan debt they’ll be just as liberal as they are now. Baby boomers became conservative because they were born with the wind at their back and turned into selfish assholes after the younger generations wanted the same $300 college tuition that they had.

Is Baby Boomers being liberal when young even backed up by any facts? I seem to remember seeing that demographic still voted Nixon over McGovern.

Reagan in the 80’s definitely turned the Baby Boomers way more conservative too, he made it “cool” to be a Republican, to the point where even Hollywood was mostly conservative.

This, the ‘84 election is when boomers swung to the right. Even when I was in college 25 years later I saw bag Republican kids walking around campus wearing Reagan Bush hats as if it was cool.

St Ronnie the Diseased Useful Idiot certainly had a B-movie actor's screen peformance, even charisma, and gifted voice, so superficial, unthinking TV watching Americans were swayed. He is near the bottom of Presidents who were NOT For The People

72 was a landslide, throw it out, but that demographic didn't really vote because McGovern wouldn't end the war either even though the young of that time were protesting and holding up signs with a swastika replacing the "X" in Nixon

It's a fraternity thing and Reagan Bush '84 apparel is still a thing in the 2010s in the right-leaning fraternity/greek culture that is mostly separate from the "rest" of the college campus (GDIs). You can usually tell how left or right wing a college campus is based on the proportion of greek life.

Yeah just throw it out because it's inconvenient for your narrative. All Baby Boomers moved to San Francisco to drop acid and have free love right?
