Fascinating.
We're has-beens
And no one cares outside of Texas
Google Trends - 'spurs'
ESPN would have never mentioned us in the past had we not been dominating the league. We're not noteworthy enough. The Spurs have never attracted much attention so it really shouldn't shock anyone that we're even less popular on social media now that we're mediocre. Big markets and young superstars get the social media hype. The Spurs have neither at the moment.
However, interest in Forbes is strong:
Especially in Michigan, but not as much in TX where he plays (currently)
Similarly, interest in San Antonio has waned since the championship days...
Note how it peaks every year in the playoffs...
and this year, no peak ofc
Spurs were always more popular outside the US than inside the US.
legit contenders get googled more often than bottom feeders? no way
i thought we loved being under the radar?
Amazing how during the glory years we didn’t get much interest. It wasn’t until we started playing Lebron in the finals that we got a bump. So looks like the interest in us was partially just due to us being LeBron’s main compe ion for a le for a couple of years
That's only when you're carrying bombs.
I'm helping oklahoma be ranked number 2
All the real fans come straight to Spurstalk.. no need to Google
