    Interesting concept.

At some point, Trump will be out of office. He and all the corrupt, inept dumbasses that have burrowed into the xylum the pith of the government will be rooted out, and no longer be able to shield themselves from oversight.

I just wonder what we will find under the rocks.

No, you won’t rub anyone’s nose in because Trump isn’t getting indicted once he is out of office, and you won’t return to this thread either like you always do after someone bumps it rubbing your nose in your own , like this recent one...

Yeah...the same about Dubya and Barry...."OHHHHH, ALL THEIR CORRUPTION WILL COME TO THE SURFACE AND THEY WILL PAY!!".

Bull fairytale for the losing side. America will never make their leaders pay and risk looking even worse to the rest of the world. Our country is as vain and shallow as the majority of people who inhabit it.

Fulton DA’s investigation into Trump heads to grand jury

ATLANTA — Fulton County prosecutors are expected to appear before a grand jury this week seeking subpoenas for do ents and witnesses related to their investigation of former President Donald Trump and some of his top associates for possible election fraud, The Atlanta Journal-Cons ution has learned.

Legal experts are split as to whether there’s a strong case to be made, but most agree Trump’s efforts to overturn Georgia’s election results merit greater scrutiny. Fani Willis, Fulton’s new district attorney, has said she’s prepared to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Some believe the recording of Trump’s Jan. 2 phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger leaning on him to “find” the votes to reverse Joe Biden’s win is grounds to move forward.

“If there were a textbook (example of) how to commit criminal election fraud, this would be it,” said Atlanta attorney David Walbert, who has represented Fulton County and the state of Georgia in several elections and redistricting cases.

That was the crimey-crimes he committed against the state of Georgia.

Don't forget that the New York Criminal probe is also ongoing, and has the tax returns to use as a road map to start looking under rocks and kicking down doors.

Vance’s office in recent months has accelerated its criminal investigation into the Trump Organization for possible insurance and tax fraud, multiple people familiar with the probe told Reuters.

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule in the next few weeks on whether Vance’s office can obtain an eight-year period of Trump’s tax records.

“If I were [Trump] or his attorneys, I would be very worried about the New York authorities and then the Georgia authorities,” Ryan Goodman, a professor at New York University’s School of Law, told CNN on Monday. “I think he’s in serious jeopardy.”

Basically Vance has a wide purview to investigate.

The Hush money for the porn-star payoff was falsified records, and if the intent was to coverup for election law violations, that becomes a felony.

That is what ultimately is on the table there.

That said, the tax returns likely contain some evidence of the money laundering activities that seem to have been the norm in the Trump Organization. Be interesting to see what they springboard into among those million do ents.

    3) The real-estate fraud investigation
What we know: New York Attorney General Le ia James has been another thorn in Mr Trump's side.

Since March 2019, Ms James has been leading a civil investigation into whether the Trump Organization committed real-estate fraud.

Again, the roots of this investigation lead back to Cohen who, in February 2019, told Congress that Mr Trump had inflated the value of his property assets to secure loans and understated them to reduce his taxes.

    ...

In office, Mr Trump argued that he was too busy to deal with lawsuits. Now, he cannot use that excuse.

Ms James can treat Mr Trump with less deference, pressing him to sit for questioning under oath, just like his son.

Most courts would be very indulgent with a president-defendant on things like scheduling, for instance. Not so with a private citizen," Mr Alonso said.

Civil investigations like this can result in financial penalties, if evidence of wrongdoing is found. If it is, another criminal inquiry cannot be ruled out.

    That was just the pillage.

    Don't forget the rape.

    5) The sexual misconduct lawsuits
What we know: Mr Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women whose allegations span decades. Mr Trump has denied all the allegations, dismissing them as "fake news", political smears and conspiracies.

What are the sexual allegations against Trump?
Many of the accusers came forward ahead of Mr Trump's election win in 2016. Mr Trump vowed to sue them all but, as yet, has not done so.

Instead, some of the accusers have sued Mr Trump. Two of those women have filed defamation lawsuits against Mr Trump for calling them liars.
E Jean Carroll, a long-time columnist for Elle magazine, is one of them. She has accused Mr Trump of raping her in a dressing room at a luxury Manhattan department store in the 1990s. Mr Trump denies it and is contesting the defamation claim.

In her lawsuit, Ms Carroll argues Mr Trump defamed her by saying he could not have raped her because "she's not my type". Her lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and a retraction of Mr Trump's statements.

Ms Carroll v Mr Trump seemed straightforward enough until September, when the US Department of Justice weighed in.

Exclusive: Georgia prosecutor probing Trump taps leading racketeering attorney
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKBN2AY0L0

(Reuters) - The district attorney investigating whether former U.S. President Donald Trump illegally interfered with Georgia’s 2020 election has hired an outside lawyer who is a national authority on racketeering, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has enlisted the help of Atlanta lawyer John Floyd, who wrote a national guide on prosecuting state racketeering cases. Floyd was hired recently to “provide help as needed” on matters involving racketeering, including the Trump investigation and other cases, said the source, who has direct knowledge of the situation.

The move bolsters the team investigating Trump as Willis prepares to issue subpoenas for evidence on whether the former president and his allies broke the law in their campaign to pressure state officials to reverse his Georgia election loss. Willis has said that her office would examine potential charges including “solicitation of election fraud, the making of false statements to state and local governmental bodies, conspiracy, racketeering” among other possible violations.

A representative for Trump did not respond to requests for comment.

Floyd’s appointment signals that racketeering could feature prominently in the investigation. It’s an area of law where Willis has extensive experience - including a high-profile Atlanta case where she won racketeering convictions of 11 public educators for a scheme to cheat on standardized tests.

It is what I think should happen.

Just like you have all sorts of truth and reconciliation commissions after authoritarian disasters.

    1. E. Jean Carroll Defamation and Federal Tort Claims Act Litigation

Carroll is suing Trump for defamation after he publicly accused her of fabricating a rape allegation against him. The parties are currently involved in an appeal before the Second Circuit, where Trump (and so far, the Justice Department as well) is arguing that he had official immunity from Carroll’s defamation claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
