Yes, just not a starter material. Still has plenty of growth though. Not all gloom for him.

best PF on the team. Worst starting PF in the entire NBA
Sad truth. Rudy fell off a cliff this year and pop refuses to try out an Aldridge and poeltl pairing again
Lyles is not bad, just not aggressive enough. He's got a lot of room to grow with his great bball IQ, skills and length.
Lyles is actually pretty good when he just goes out there and balls. It's when he thinks too much or is hesitant that he sucks.
Peak Lyles vs Peak Manu
Who is better?
Who is more valuable?
no, he is not NBA material, but no one on the Spurs is, so who cares what losers play.
He sucks as a rotational player. As a 12th man he'd be fine. He is an abortion as a starter
On a team that starts Forbes, and gives significant minutes to Belinelli and Mills, what kind of stupid fool whines about Lyles?
Its a sad state for the spurs when forbes, mills and lyles are key rotation pieces
Lyles is solid. His defense is really underrated too. He actually does a pretty decent job when he ends up matched up with guys like LeBron or Doncic. He really is a poor man's Diaw. He was a good, low risk signing, tbh.
He is a decent bench player but no way near starting material.
Has proven to be better than I expected. Not a starter without a true superstar with opposing defense to focus on, but he can play. He will be better next year but Spurs will have to decide on their combo/power forwards. Lyles, Metu or Samanic even Aldridge. Only 2 of them can play significant minutes.
Bump hes better than hairdo
Man, I miss Boris...
Lyles played tough tonight and got into Gordon’s head
Gordon's also not a very good player though, so that's not surprising.
Lot's of free room in there.
Lyles is doing whats required on both ends. In another words hes playing his role. Hes a great pickup, one positive from a house season.
Definitely nba material and much needed unlike Bryn Forbes.
He offset Rudys decline .
Rather seem him come off the bench and start poeltl with Aldridge tbh
Great job against Orlando. Now he needs to be consistent
