Just talked to a friend who is an HR director. One of the employees wanted to take off Monday and Tuesday. She has a friend coming in from out of state. The conversation went on and and it turns out the friend works at the nursing home in Washington. After getting into the discussion, the employee asked what they should do.

WTF is wrong with people? Seriously - you work in that nursing home, and you're going to hop on a plane and travel to another state? You've got a friend coming who works in that nursing home, and you tell them it's okay to come visit you? Sometimes I can't help thinking that all you mortals are doomed. If it isn't this, it will be something else.
Too many dumbass people think public health isn't a big deal sadly

The doctor that reported t was in his 30’s and healthy. It killed him. Some people, and it may be a fairly large percentage have genetics which make them more susceptible to Covid-19.
He was most likely taken out by China because he was the whistle blower and they had already questioned him and warned him to stay quiet.

What actually happens if the season gets cancelled. Forgetting the logistics of paying players and workers, refunding season ticket holders, league pass purchases, etc...what happens to this season? Is it just erased and start over next year? Pick up where it left off before next season starts?

Think about Vegas?! I have a bet on over/under does that get voided out?

The reason why authorities are cautious is that (contrary to the flu we have vaccines for) sientists don't know much about this virus that coud still be mutating and become much more agressive for other categories of populations.

That's why it's important to isolate it before it spreads, as the more different people who get it, the bigger the chances it mutates.

Half the country would be 160,000,000. Drop a zero, and you’d have my figure, based on a modest 5%. 16,000,000. Do the math, on a calculator if you like. I’ll even provide the equation.

    320,000,000 X .05

    Go ahead. Punch it in.

So half our country is getting wiped out? Interesting

I expect other sports to follow suit - MLB, NHL, MLB, NCAA, everyone.

The economic impact of the these leagues being suspended is immeasurable. Think travel, hospitality, Uber/Lyft, security, PR/media, concessions, bars, and restaurants.

Seriously, hopefully the Spurs tested Belinelli for coronavirus. It was worrying that a guy from north Italy came back from the All-Star break with a cough and a fever that caused him to miss multiple games . . . . .

Tom Hanks and his wife just reported that they tested positive. They're in Australia.

No. Not 3 zeros. One zero. 16,000,000. Sixteen million. You posted one hundred and sixty million. Drop ONE zero from that. Go back to my most recent post, punch the equation 320,000,000 X .05. into a calculator.

Edit. You got the gist, and edited. 16,000,000 is still horrifying, and will overwhelm healthcare AND mortuary services.
