But it provides several exceptions, including children who are younger than 10 years old, people who have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, people who are eating or drinking and people who are exercising outdoors.
Abbott’s order specifies at least one group of people is not excepted from the order: “any person attending a protest or demonstration” with over 10 people who cannot socially distance.

I am too. I just thought it was funny to single them out when the order itself pretty much covered them already.
This might cause the Republicans to scuttle the in-person convention because they don't want to be seen in masks. Fairly smart political move by Abbott to at least delay calling off the convention himself.
How about church choirs AND protesters.
Indoors, right next to each other, and already been through a number of very bad incidents in other States...

I agree with you that it's just dumb as to go to church right now but has any state, red or blue, prohibited it? I think the cons utional issue scares them away, not to mention Republicans ting on their base.

Kansas initially shut down churches but the Court overturned the executive order citing it as discriminatory.
Pretty much the same reason bar owners are suing Texas over the order to shut bars down.
In other words, they can be shut down due to emergency situations like this but the government has to make sure all businesses/organizations of similar nature are also shut down.
