Somewhat location dependent.
Steve Adler's orders on Friday extend eviction protections in Austin and Travis County.

I expect Adler to be pre-empted by Abbutt, who is bribed by creditors, landlords to protect their revenue.
the more goodies, the more social good, and vice versa
Democrats control the House, the Senate and the Presidency.
Pelosi is begging an executive branch agency to do what Congress or POTUS could and should do.
the White House is begging Congress to do something
for those not paying close attention, Congress just left town for summer vacation
Bull . Repugs control Senate, since the Dems have only 48 Senators MAX.

The lapsed eviction moratorium is the Supreme Court’s fault
Democrats are too busy infighting to place blame where it belongs.
in late June, the Supreme Court signaled that this moratorium must expire at the end of July, effectively leaving many renters without protection.
In theory, most of these renters — and their landlords — should have received federal housing assistance.
Over the course of the pandemic, Congress allocated $45 billion in rent relief to help people struggling financially due to Covid-19.
But the state and local governments charged with distributing these funds have struggled to disburse them quickly.

bull .
it's not SCOTUS's fault Biden and Dems in Congress did nothing about it except wring their hands once it was too late
Estimated that back rent amounts to $50B

corrupt rightwing SCOTUS chose to limit the time, was not forced to, fully knowing the Dems couldn't get 60 in the Senate.
I read that Biden's team figured if they challenged SCOTUS on the time limit and extended the moratorium, they would lose.
So corrupt rightwing legislating-from-the-bench SCOTUS is the PRIMARY culprit, not the Dems.

Jobs data suggest states that cut off enhanced unemployment benefits did not boost rehiring
https://theweek.com/unemployment/100...nefits-did-not
that was just Repugs cruelly punching down on their own voters, but especially on poor blacks and browns
CDC and WH's belated actions put the lie to that lame excuse.
Dems know the Repugs will block any legislation to extend
CDC works for Biden who figured SCOTUS would block extension.
The entire sh!tshow is on corrupt rightwing, screw-the-poor / enrich-the-rich SCOTUS that blocked the extension.
The Repugs will ask SCOTUS to kill the extension, and SCOTUS will.
What a surprise!
Landlord groups ask federal judge to halt new CDC eviction ban
The filing argues that the new CDC order is an extension of the previous moratorium,
which the Supreme Court has ruled the agency didn't have the authority to issue.

Nearly half of US states withdrew federal unemployment benefits early.
It has not incentivized a return to work
a total of 26 states are without federal unemployment.
Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), a payroll management firm,
has noted that trends among hourly workers suggest that
the return to work pace is approximately half of the expected rate.

Democrats Took Millions From Real Estate Interests Before Allowing Eviction Moratorium to End
"Real estate developer money unites the Democratic Party."
the Democrats' inaction was directly benefiting some of the party's biggest backers in the real estate industry.
the real estate brokerage firm Marcus & Millichap and the real estate investment trust Essex Property Trust donated $1 million to the House Majority PAC on June 1, days after the CDC extended the moratorium until late June.
Chairman George Marcus also donated $263,400 that same month to a committee that benefits the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's campaign, and
contributed at least $6.5 million to PACs that work to elect Democrats to the Senate and House.
the chairman part of a group of landlords whose personal fortunes increased by nearly $25 billion since the pandemic began—
both Marcus & Millichap and Essex Property Trust stood to benefit from the eviction moratorium being allowed to expire.

During mother er Biden's illegal installation.
They got it salted away, bouts. The vast lion's share have been forted up the entire time, counting their attendant loot, totin' up the ciphers. Now they have enough to get them thru New Years Day.
I don't blame 'em one-damn-bit.
The states have had the money the entire time, they just won't disperse it. It's money from home, and daddy-O, there ain't nothin' better than money from home.
Let, no, make mother er Biden decree that they send it out to the landlords toot sweet.
Bet he don't, bouts.
or, organize and sue
something to this, i think.
expectations have been reset by COVID. there are political implications to that.

Consumer sentiment measure falls to pandemic-era low, sees one of largest drops on record
POINTS
- The University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index tumbled to 70.2 in its preliminary August reading.
- That was the lowest reading since 2011.
- The dramatic decline comes as the delta variant of Covid-19 has spread rapidly across the United States, leading some states and cities to reinstate mask mandates and other health restrictions.
