Texas fights local attempts to reduce infection, but is willing to help with the backlog of bodies.

Still have teen psychiatric beds open. Hospitals fine.
Same with NY except more, 1.7 per 1K in NY and almost 1 per every 500 in NJ. Cuomo getting an Emmy. Party affiliation matters.
Cuomo pretended to care and to take COVID-19 seriously, crucial details Trump failed to emulate. Style counts.
I liked this AP lede:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is set to soon receive an International Emmy award for his once-daily televised briefings on the coronavirus pandemic that killed tens of thousands of New Yorkers this spring.
Ok, so stop whining about deaths per 1000. Let's make it about style.
Demeanor matters.
Obama got a Nobel for nothing.
Cuomo got a Emmy for showing concern and maintaining a rigid, televised pose of public service during the crisis. Something Trump might have emulated to his own benefit. It would have cost him nothing. Putting the difference in reception down to party affiliation is absurd, Trump had his chance to play the national comforter on TV and flopped. Couldn't do it.
NY lost 34K people but scored style points in the process.
I thought it was about lives. Turns out it's about demeanor.
We were discussing media awards lol.
I don't know why you picked me to whine at about this, we're basically in agreement on Cuomo.
(If Trump had been able to pretend he cared about COVID on TV as well as Cuomo he'd be re-elected by now.)

You posted a tweet that said ND had the highest per capita death rate from COVID in the world. You were talking about mortality rate. I reminded you that NY and NJ and a few others have a higher mortality rate yet the Gov of NY is getting an award for it. You went off the reservation into awards. You post tweets so fast you don't even have time to read them.
We might agree on Cuomo but you seem to think it's ok since you like pointing fingers instead at less egregious examples.
We're still early on in this pandemic, we'll see where everyone ends up.
I don't think we're that early. Probably more like around the halfway point since we'll hopefully have widespread vaccine distribution accomplished in the next 9 months.
Man, I hope you're right.

Taiwan has been approximately COVID-free since February. They contained it.
People there have been living their lives freely for the last 200 days.
COVID-19 tally:
Diagnosed: 617
Recovered: 548
Deaths: 7
