2014 Spurs were the last great team.
Might not be another for 20 years.
That's with Corona and future pandemic cures.

Warriors + Durant are in the conversation

Final 2 possessions, Curry airballs and 1 legged brick. Lebron 9 of 24 shooting.

6 years later and I'm still baffled as to how we took y'all 7 games with Monta Ellis as our featured guy offensively. That 2014 Spur's playoff team is comparable to the 01 Lakers. imo.

    those Warrior teams and Le

2015-2019 wrecked the NBA forever, and now it'll never be the same due to the anti-defense legislations, silver, every shot has to be a 3 or a layup, 117-110 is the average score, and COVID-19

I miss 90s and 00s ball where the average games were much more gritty (played in the 90s score wise, really 85-105 was your typical scoring range), defense was allowed, and the Steve Nash-led teams were outliers, not the norm.

Guys like Bruce Bowen, Trenton Hassell, Kurt Thomas, Charles Oakley, etc would either foul out or average 10 minutes per game due to foul trouble in today's NBA, tbh

A number of super low IQ SpurFans and others on this site were and are Blair Haters. Blair Haters had and have no clue how good he could be when he was right. He definitely helped put a scare into the Spurs that 4-3 series.

He made many great plays that series.
Why do you think he has fallen off a cliff since then?
Too much wanted to be da man. Then realized how good he had it with LeBron.

Hitching his cart to Durbetta is gonna backfire big time.

same spurs squad was nearly pushed to 7 by a 4th year steph, 2nd year klay, and rookie draymond

to think they would have a chance facing them in their primes, plus prime KD

    pretty much

they had the exact same core

only main roster difference was replacing neal with belli

kawhi had a slight improvement while parker and timmy both regressed a bit

could honestly argue the 12-13 squad was better tbqh

but neither squad would have a chance against KD warriors

The anti defense rule existed in the 80s 90s

    You couldn’t breathe on Jordan

And contrary to popular belief, hand checking and soft fouls were calked on a regular basis

People think the physical “tuff” defense was the norm because they watch highlights that only show those plays.
And if you gave to play “physical”/dirty that means you can’t defend for

Hand checking was only called if:

A.) You did it with BOTH hands and it looked excessive...or:

B.) Phil Jackson was ing about the refs. And he only did that during playoff series in which he knew he had a decent shot of losing.

It's clearly much softer in this day and age. People think there are more three's launched now because the players are more skilled. That's only partly true. Teams played you tougher back then and ran you off the line. Spurs were the best in the business at it.

Except that Curry and Durant both have beta tendencies in playoff series. 90's Bulls would annihilate them, imo. In fact, 90's Knicks squad would have had them ting their shorts. That is provided they played with 90's era rules. Durant would have 29 twitter accounts defending himself after he failed to come through and got knocked on his rear end all series long.
