beat me to it by a minute. Your thread wins!
Damn, I just missed Timmy's interview...hopefully someone can re-post it.
Humble, classy talked about winning mattering most. Says he never felt unappreciated because he was focused on his team.
He did name drop Vinny Del Negro!!!
Key point - When the ESPN guys were asking him if he felt unappreciated they were talking about being unappreciated by the media / general public. Tim answers no, and brings it back to his teammates and how they all were working towards the same goal every year. I love how he just completely ignores the premise of their question. For Tim, it was all about winning and the team. Being appreciated by the media doesn't even show up on his radar.
I would say Tim Duncan was the greatest 1 pick of all time considering he didn't leave the Spurs and was able to win 5. Only other 1 pick you can say was better was Kareem since he won 6 but he had to leave Milwaukee and go to LA to win 5 more. What Tim did with the Spurs was really hard and something you probably wont ever see replicated again
Tim is the best franchise player of all time.
Agree without a doubt. What a great return on investment for a number 1 pick if you draft him. Spurs got 5 les out of him and a ridiculous regular season win percentage above 70 percent. The regular season success is one of the most impressive things to me. I think Spur fans took it for granted of how hard it is to get 50 wins per a year. Tim made it look very easy.
The only other No. 1 pick that won 5 with the team that drafted him was Magic Johnson.
ESPN showing 03 Finals right now.
pussy ass kenyon Martin got sonned by Timmy no matter what team he was on
Nice. Then in the commercials you can switch over to ABC to watch the Celtics trash the Lakers by 39 in Game 6 of 08.
Imagine social media being around when this article posted.
