The Navy operates a hospital ship called Comfort which was supposed to be treating only patients without COVID-19 in NYC so that doctors in the NYC hospital could focus on the patients who have the virus.

An initial screening was supposed to prevent COVID-19 positive patients from boarding, but only consisted of taking each patient’s temperature and asking a few questions. Perhaps not surprisingly, “less than five” patients onboard have now tested positive.

Who do you think was responsible for this failure, and how can it be prevented in the future?

Whoever sent those patients from the Javits Center is to blame, but the system in place on the ship worked and those patients went back Saturday. The "less than five" you cited were those transferred from Javits who got a full test after boarding and were isolated until and after the test results came back. It won't be the last time someone with COVID-19 gets past the initial screening.

Not everything is his fault. He's merely the worst President the country has ever had and the absolute worst choice to lead the nation at this time.

COVID-19 is gonna hit as much of a percent of the global population as the mid-1300s black plague but only kill 2-3% instead of 50%, so that's good I guess

What happened is this virus is highly contagious, and somebody didn't quite follow protocol. It's disheartening, but not unexpected.

Even if everyone had been tested, there have been concerns that some people have falsely tested negative for COVID. All you'd need is one of those and the virus will spread.

The black death bubonic plague (originally native to the steppe lands of Central Asia) has been endemic in the steppe (semi-arid) areas of the United States since the 1800s.

Does that mean we should impose a long term quarantine on large swaths of the American West? (and lol at the random case in Chicago, must have been a traveler).

The word "endemic" would provide a clue to anyone who knew what it meant.
