But you're readily admitting that the issue here isn't that Joe doesn't have control of Congress, but that even if he did, he would still spend more on the MIC than the poor, he'll still cozy up to Wall Street, etc.
And frankly, I find disgusting the notion that any given party should control the judiciary, be it through appointments or otherwise. Sure, it happens, it would be naive to say otherwise, but my vote would be on somebody changing the rules of selection so it stops being partisan.
Maybe they feel it's a lose-lose situation. This is where the whole inspiration, excitement, etc comes into play.

at the time i thought and said the blasey ford thing was actually a massive distraction from kavanaugh's actual disqualifying factors (his inability to be impartial, the lack of financial disclosures due to the rushed nomination process). it was always unlikely that any definitive conclusions would be reached with respect to her allegations. her allegations notwithstanding, i thought his testimony was unhinged as well (calling it revenge from the clintons, etc)
I didn't think Ford's charges were going to make any difference either.
Nor did I, and I agree with sr21 that it was a blind alley and that other lines of questioning would have possibly been more fruitful.
I also think the disparate treatment reveals the hypocrisy of some, maybe a lot of Bidenistas. They don't necessarily believe women when the alleged perp is a (D). Their gaslighting of Tara Reade is more or less dishonorable IMO.
