I personally know of several cases if people getting sick after being perfectly healthy and within two weeks being dead because of covid.

I also know that the ins ution that was responsible for these individuals decided to call the cause of death a heart attack even though the heart attack was caused by his blood oxygen getting into the 60s because of what covid had done to his lungs in one particular case.

Hospitals are hard pressed to show they have capacity to treat things besides COVID-19 and why wouldn't they fudge. Nobody wants to admit having death panels or that people are dying from otherwise treatable conditions because hospitals are full up or too dangerous for non-covid patients. Because that would be admitting that health care is broken and their business model is .

Administrators might not make 100,000s of dollars a year and investors might miss a few dividends. Can't have that.

The rub is that people don't die of asphyxiation typically from covid. It functions similar to emphysema and causing the heart rate to go crazy to try to get more oxygen to the brain.

Then of course you have the instances where covid complicates other illnesses somebody has.

Either way it provides gray area in terms of diagnosing cause of death that ins utions that want to keep their covid deaths low can take advantage of.

When it comes to life and death issues stupidity interacts with evolution in a way that ends up working things out.

Randian objectivism doesn't mesh well with covid. The population that isolates and uses PPE and vaccination will succeed while those that insist on doing their own thing will get culled.

Unfortunately we also have a very weak healthcare system exposed with this pandemic. The notion that the system can ramp up and down quickly on demand turned out to be pure fantasy. The astronomical bills and financial ruin will probably have a longer lasting effect than the pandemic itself, and unfortunately affect the poorest of the population, which is only growing seeing how this flawed system largely depends on having a job for coverage.

unfortunately sometimes it takes something huge in order to get people to wake up.

I still don't understand why citizens are afraid of at least a public option.

I understand very much why certain industries are.
