Who says he has to shoot. Buy some of this insane logic, If a black guy pulls a gun on a white guy ,who also pulls a gun, that black guy could shoot him and say the white guy pulled a gun on him so he felt threatened and had to kill him.

The man was assaulted while minding his own business. He had a right to defend himself. White men in a truck trap you on the road, you're a black man, you obviously don't have a good "let's talk" feeling.
The cops should have been notified. People need to stop pretending to be cops. Murder or, if the shooting was accidental during the struggle, manslaughter.
I'd even consider premeditated murder. They chased him down with guns.
It's not self defense if the person who fired the shot wasn't even in the struggle. The only reason the situation was "dangerous" was because dip had to confront a guy while holding a shotgun. Then damn near had it taken away from him. The guy who fired the shot wasn't in any danger as the gun never changed hands. Whatever situation developed from unlawful armed kidnapping attempt should just add fuel to the fire for the judge/jury. Citizen's arrest my ass, since when were citizens allowed to chase people down randomly and accost them at gunpoint because he looked like someone who they think committed a crime. Call crime stoppers.

It sucks that people like that exist at this point. The rest of us white folk realize that people are just people. I’m teaching my half Hispanic/half white kids that race doesn’t ing matter even slightly and that people are going to give them their entire lives but those people are almost exclusively uneducated clowns that will end up working for them one day.
Defense of others can be a valid defense as well. Different jurisdictions have different rules on it though. I don't believe it would ever apply to a situation where it's the aggressor who is being "defended" though.
