The people who carry firearms openly aren't the ones the FBI and police are concerned with. Many of those people are likely ex military anyhow, and not playing with a full deck. None of these guys are going to shoot up a Walmart, and a mass shooter isn't going to parade around with others in a social setting showing off his 3500.00 AR-15 setup. It's basically a more intense version of a CB jamboree.
