sure, lay out how temporarily keeping in-person gatherings in California churches help Trump's re-election.

A court denying Consitutional freedoms. The base is going to be energized to re-elect the guy that aims to nip these shenanigans in the bud.

It's been proved over and over again that they don't necessarily need in-person congregations.
Didn't Jesus one time literally say that physical places of worship aren't necessary, that wherever two or three people gather in his name, they're good to go?

I kind of see what you mean; JC drove the moneylenders out of the temple, ergo, the temple was important to him. No doubt it was.

JC often spoke in parables, driving the moneylenders out of the temple and subsequently saying no physical temple is necessarily to worship or receive religion, do not necessarily conflict.

The physical house of worship was very important but somehow not necessary.

Thanks for clearing that up, Pastor Blakehole.

Not in California though. And let's be clear here, there's no prohibition to practice religion, just a temporary suspension of gatherings.

Plus, the evangelical base was going to vote for Trump anyways, who are we kidding? just like the liberal base, it's not enough to win the election.

It was a federal ruling, bruh. And let's be clear that there is a prohibition on religion and that goes against the first amendment.

The evangelical base was going to vote for Trump; this will only strengthen that and add to the numbers who do not want the tyranny.

I'm pretty sure drive in services were allowed in this area. It's not prohibited at all.

It's a federal court ruling specifically on California's order... and there's no "prohibition on religion", whatever that means.

I'm unconcerned with Trump's base (evangelicals, libertatrdians, etc). They're just as hypocritical as the left's base, and will hold their nose and vote for him or anything with a (R) next to the name.

It's not like they were ever going to vote for Biden.

Meh, it's not like the shutdowns are permanent. You'll have to find some other way to feel oppressed by proxy.

What's sorta funny is that when that base loses, even though they're no more than 30% of the electorate, it's "voted fraud!" and the like...

As much fun as they make of muh Russia collusion, they're cut from the same cloth.
