You're absolutely right, but it's much easier said than done. Its a very difficult job, moreso in these cir stances, and due to the nature of the job the us vs them mentality is very difficult to defend against and justice is part of the "us".
But as experienced here in Chile over the last 6 months, your problem now is, is the police capable of controlling riots without committing further abuse? Will the justice system prosecute those abuses or continue siding with cops? Otherwise this can keep going and going...
Yesterday I read several reports of individuals and reporters losing eyeballs due to rubber bullets. When that happened here at first I thought it was accidental, but in about a month more than 300 people lost some or all of their eyesight.
Also, cameras by themselves won't solve this, if anything they can exacerbate the situation
SCOTUS created "qualified immunity" legal doctrine, Cons utional LAW OF THE LAND, in 1983 and has repeatedly broadened it so the law enforcement criminals are effectively immune from punishment for their crimes.
Just another way America is ed and un able.
Seen more self policing from protestors in two days than from cops who actually have a responsibility to do so
LOL fascist US state doing same as china and deleting social media posts
I wasn’t expecting a congresswoman to tell people protesting peacefully that they need to hide identifying tattoos, bring heat resistant gloves, and to make cell phones so they can’t be traced.
Talk to ny governor
And who and how are pallets of bricks being dropped off in the riot zones
Would you agree Spurtacular and Millennial_Messiah?

And free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things. They're also free to live their lives and do wonderful things. And that's what's going to happen here"
I think people have come to understand the term anarchist to mean people who don't abide civil standards and descend to mindless violence.
I initially had that same reservation when I saw the word being misused in this capacity, though.
No you, i said it first
Ur mom said it first
This all is very boring until we see a naked women's "body freedom" march
Given that the average american woman is an overwheight pig no
