If he did something wrong, arrest him. Cuff him. Use of force is only justified if necessary or reasonably believed to be necessary for safety of officers or others.
The cops don’t have the discretion to decide “i don’t feel like arresting him, so I’ll just assault him instead”
unless there was some ongoing pandemonium with mass riots/looting there was no reason to use force there. None. You can say “he was asking for it, he deserved it” but cops duty isn’t to deliver street justice.
I’ve had a great relationship with police, always to this day. You will never earn opportunity, gravy boat.
There's no reason to push him away? If dude was half his age he probably gets pushed back to the crowd or cuffed, and doesn't fall on his ass and die. Calling that a cop "using force" when it's pretty ing tame, is disingenuous.
