Does he have a financial interest in that product? If so, it needs to be investigated once he's out of office.

wonder what Trumprawns will say about this?

will they finally admit Trump was wrong on this?

or will they claim Trump was actually helping the people by putting them out of their mysery in a humane way?

Fauci: Hydroxychloroquine not effective against coronavirus
However, Fauci stopped short of calling for an outright ban of the drug.

National Ins ute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci on Wednesday became the first Trump administration official to say definitively that hydroxychloroquine is not an effective treatment for the coronavirus, based on the available data.

"The scientific data is really quite evident now about the lack of efficacy," Fauci — the U.S. government's top infectious disease expert — said on CNN.

But he stopped short of calling for an outright ban of the drug, which President Trump said he was taking last week as a preventative measure after a top White House aide was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Fauci's comments come days after the Lancet published a 96,000-patient observational study that concluded that hydroxychloroquine had no effect on Covid-19 and may have even caused some harm.

France decided this week to ban the use of hydroxychloroquine, even in clinical trials, and the WHO has paused its clinical trials of the drug.

There is no data yet from randomized, controlled clinical trials of hydroxychloroquine — the gold standard for evaluating potential treatments. But Fauci was unequivocal on Wednesday, saying that "the data are clear right now."

Just read this funny comment on the interwebs today:

France obviously banned it as part of the conspiracy aimed to discredit the President of the United States. It is amazing, the depths to which those Socialists will sink to sully his genius. They do not want to rely on the Corrupt elections, they are actually killing their citizens in support of the great Bat Flu hoax.

Sounds like something you'd rally around to get something to post about.

When it comes to sitting on the fence and acting like someone who's ahead of the curve, well, God damnit, you're the best at that hater.

No one plays both sides to "call det " better than you, hater.

The balls it takes to sit on the fence and take a 50-50, oh man.

this is the problem with deeming something a miracle cure before extensive trials and studies have been done, particularly based on anecdotal evidence of great survival numbers for a disease that already has a mortality rate likely less than 1%

I have not read the thread but if this drug is used for Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis, it targets INFLAMMATION (which I hear is one of the problems with Covid) - so I can understand why people are willing to try (early) a long-used drug in the absence of any other treatment.

i can understand why people who "do their own research" can come to these conclusions after a half an hour of googling as opposed to years of medical training and practice

    defer to experts

yes, adaptive immune system overreacting the C19 causes nearly all the damage, in the same way inflammation from lupus damages.

cortico-steroids have been suggested as early treatment in the innate immune excitation phase to reduce inflammatory responses in the adaptive immune phase.

the problem is that y'all dumb s didn't research is that Hydroxychloroquine has serious side effects and no evidence of prophylactic value

Trash pushing HCQ (to salvage his presidency) was criminal reckless endangerment.

The same experts (allergists) whose advice was avoidance, avoidance, avoidance - they now say exposure, exposure, exposure. Too late for my son - I should have followed my uneducated father who said to just give my son everything (instead of heeding the "experts" and avoiding the allergies from his skin test).

experts have been wrong about a lot of things before. in all fields. you know who figures it out and changes guidelines and procedures when new evidence/data changes our understanding of subjects? those same people.

they establish protocols based on the best data available at the time. do you suggest otherwise?

And I didn't google for half an hour - maybe half a minute - just enough to read that it's used for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

And just like these doctors' guidelines on nutrition/food pyramid - take it all with a grain of salt - these experts have been known to be wrong. These experts wanted to put my very allergic/asthmatic son on steroids - no thanks - they didn't believe in going the natural way - vitamins, minerals, good diet, cod liver oil, etc and drug-free.

I didn't claim to be an expert - but who is an expert on covid? They are just in the dark as the rest of us - masks, surfaces, etc. - changes like the wind. How about some common sense?
