Maybe pop should put his money where his mouth is
Durant calling anyone a "sellout".
Put your money where your mouth is.
durant probably forgot hes on his main account when he posted that.
I am with KD and Irving, you clowns, Perkins is a sellout and an embarrassment to the sport.
Fabbs w/ his first career funny
Perk wants a bigger contract whenever he's up for renewal.
He's spewing the company lines hardcore.
Note: This is not an endorsement of snowflakes Beta and Kylie.
KD with his meaningless rings, in a glasshouse throwing rocks... calling someone else a sellout. Too much
Isn't Perk retired and doing commentary for ESPN?
Yes. He's just a nasty piece of business. Former Celtics seem particularly salty when someone leaves the franchise. See: Allen, Ray; Irving, Kyrie.
He's out of the league. He's only played one game since 2016, and none in the last two seasons. There are some legit points you might have made, but that's not one.
He was. Speaking his mind will probably cost him that gig. Cancel culture.
ESPN is not going to fire Perk for pushing a narrative that they agree with. ESPN want these players to play badly so they can make money off of them. If anything they are having guys like Stephen A and others push the narrative that playing basketball actually benefits their movement. Now if Perk said the opposite and that he agreed with Kyrie then there is a high chance of ESPN firing him.
Not now, but things will eventually get back to whatever normal is, and then, if it comes down to a journeyman former NBA player commentator, or a current All NBA player who is unhappy with their network because of Perk, he'll be gone.
ESPN and other media outlets tend to reward guys like Perk who tow the company line. Look at that clown Stephen Jackson. Notice his media rise the last few years coincided with his Spurs bashing during the #2 saga.
Yea, he wants a bigger contract from ESPN when the time comes.
I think you're over-estimating Kyrie's pull in the first place. But especially when you consider that Perk is pushing what the majority of players want, that ain't happening, bud.
SMH How do posters not get this? Pundits have contracts.
Lots of hot words being uttered on all sides during this un-normal new normal. What happens if the tournament and playoff goes off but some players choose to sit it out. Does the player's union have a position of this? What happens to a team who loses a player to politics?
Players have around 5 or 6 days from now to decide whether they're going to sit out for whatever reason (politics, covid, simply don't want to, etc).
perk is 100% right. fück kyrie and kd.
It's really odd that two players who have no intention of playing anyways are so butthurt about it.
Perk is a major who is butthurt about Kyrie leaving Boston
It wasn't very long ago that Kyrie was questioning whether or not the earth was flat and whether those calling our planet a globe were part of some kind of conspiracy. Had LeBron not returned to Cleveland, Kyrie would've continued on the path of being a guy who couldn't help his team win enough games to grab the eighth seed in the East.
