the shove itself was not overly violent, as is far from the most egregious misconduct we've seen during these protests

but given how it was literally one old man walking up to them, the clear footage, and to be frank, the end result, it's become a flash point.

Doesn’t matter if it was overly violent. Old people struggle with balance. Just a fact of life. Just a stupid thing to do. The old guy was apparently handing one of the cops helmet back to him. And then was just shoved for it. Stupidity at its finest. These aren’t children. They should know that if they ing shove a person there’s a high chance of them falling. And when you shove a person on concrete backwards there’s a higher chance of something bad happening to that person, hence him hitting his head and bleeding out.

Optics are bad bc it was just a beyond stupid thing to do. Now to take some sort of moral stance over it? Nobody is on your side for this one boys. “How dare they suspend the guy who assaults elderly people. Dave is a nice guy, you don’t know his side of the story. The old guy was a terrorist returning police property like that”
