Maxine Walters attention comments stupid, yes. But they can be used as an excuse to overthrow the verdict?

Then why did the judge say:

"I'll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned," Cahill said as arguments in the case concluded Monday and the jury began deliberations.

He Judge Spouter, if Walters comments are as you say "may result in this whole trial being overturned" then are not you yourself in making your comments also unduly influencing the jury?

    They both needed to STFU.

same judge also denied their motion for mistrial on the same grounds. saying you have something you can use in appeal is pretty broad. jury has been instructed not to watch the news on anything relating to this trial, and like it or not, there is a presumption that instructions are followed

1st hand experience, the vast majority ignore instructions about media as well as talking to relatives / roomates / associates.

And of course McCarthy is taking full advantage from this. Introducing bill to censure her.

Since Minnesota doesn't have a death penalty, that's going to be tough.

"Convinced" murders of the English language should be hanged, drawn, and quartered!

That's an extraordinary punishment for treason, IIRC. This is recalled by heart from FW Maitland's "History of English Law," which I read in college and still have. 99% confidence interval, fwiw.

I can look it up for you, if you like.

He's definitely going to be the nigger there if / when he's locked up. Hopefully he gets it slow too just like George Floyd did.

It was punishment for treason as you said. For the most heinous crimes, like ducks butchery of English.
