He's saying that cowardly white liberals that aren't actual allies are no different than their actual conservative racist. oppressors. MLK, and other civil rights leaders all said the same thing. It was, and is, undeniable.
They were both (referencing MLK and X) sick of having white ppl and politicians tell them they agreed with their fight but whom were unwilling to act or stick their necks out, or lend their voices to making change. It's why we are still here in 2020. He is NOT saying liberals = bad; conservatives = good. Far from it. He's saying the white liberals are functionally as bad as the out and out racists, and folks aligned against progress and equality (as acted out on policy grounds by conservatives).
The only true ally MLK and Malcolm X and the civil rights actors had outside of their black activists and citizens were actual progressives willing to do the hard and dangerous work like they were doing (including the relatively few white progressives that matched and sat in with them).
