"PENDLETON, Ore. — Weeks after President Trump demanded that America’s shuttered houses of worship be allowed to reopen, new outbreaks of the coronavirus are surging through churches across the country where services have resumed.

The virus has infiltrated Sunday sermons, meetings of ministers and Christian youth camps in Colorado and Missouri. It has struck churches that reopened cautiously with face masks and social distancing in the pews, as well as some that defied lockdowns and refused to heed new limits on numbers of worshipers.

Pastors and their families have tested positive, as have church ushers, front-door greeters and hundreds of churchgoers. In Texas, about 50 people contracted the virus after a pastor told congregants they could once again hug one another. In Florida, a teenage girl died last month after attending a youth party at her church...."

    Churches are the problem

They're not, if we define a church simply as a gathering of people practicing their religion. Problem is with this gathering taking place indoors in a crowded environment. Hold service in parks, parking lots, or continue to do it remotely.

Okay. We going to close Wal Mart and Costco based on this rationale? Or we just targeting your political enemies?

If Walmart or Costco crowd people together in place for hours, have them sing without masks and encourage physical contact I would have them penalized to change such stupid practices.

Feel free to move the goalpost.

Sigh. You're on the move in costco and walmart, and the average visit is probably 15-20 min. In a church, you're sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with people for 1 to 2 hours, while singing and citing verses.

I want bars closed the down, too. They a "political enemy" now? Same with movie theaters (basically a church).

Hold services outside (virus doesn't transmit as well outdoors) and have patrons sit 6 feet apart. I've also seen drive in church service, as well.

Some have argued that the trade disruption caused by the coronavirus puts the U.S. economy in grave danger. These fears are overstated.

With McConnell blocking the $600/week, 30M+ people will be consuming the bare minimum in Consumer-driven Economy, meaning 1000s mostly small, independent businesses will fail.

McConnell knows from the Banksters' Great Depression that his BigDonor class will become more wealthy from The Trump-Made Pandemic, so he doesn't give the tiniest about citizens.

The BigDonor class with its Shock Doctrine of crisis Capitalism will buy up businesses and r/e at deep bargain prices, owning even more of America than now
