ing re ed, Biden presidency already a show -12 days in.
I'm pretty sure he's taking guidance from scientist/viroligists/moderna/pfizer.

The first shot apparently does provide some immunity after a week or two,, so I guess they are thinking that, now that the Trump-Made Pandemic is raging worse than ever, 4000+ dead/day, the first shot to as many as possible is better than two shots to fewer people.

    "

    • The standard 15 minutes to watch out for allergic reactions to the vaccine.
    • Twenty-one days until I get the second dose.
    • Then seven more days for the main event, the show we’ve all been waiting for: 95% efficacy."

    https://www.statnews.com/2020/12/24/...ng-about-time/

maybe the mfrs have told Biden's team that Ms more doses will be available sooner than expected so get spread the current doses as first shot as quickly and widely as possible

Apparently multiple states have many 100Ks of doses but only a tiny fraction administered.

Chumpdump now says the majority.of all want a vax, when he's posted things about the majority of people, healthcRe workers specifically not wanting the vax.

    Now he wants data.

Saw an interview with an Israeli dude on this. The smallness of their country is playing a role but it sounds like the biggest factor is they thought ahead and used influenza shots as a practice run for how they would do covid shots.

I'm not sure how to accelerate the vaccination rate but it's worth noting that the examples listed are swallowed by Texas. Population density and sheer size likely plays a role in a mass vaccine rollout. Dunno how big tho.

A human coronavirus evolves antigenically to escape antibody immunity
    https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1....423313v1.full

This might change everything. Turns out everybody just assumed reinfection by common cold HCoV's was due to waning immunity over time and never bothered to check if they were escaping immunity. This study shows we retain immunity to H229E long term but it mutates just like influenza albeit more slowly. With the amount of infection present in the world I won't be surprised at all if we select for vaccine resistance, especially since we are going to play fast and loose with the dosing.

So we're not a mere 500,000 deaths away from the end of the pandemic?

About 340,000 deaths away from end of the Covid19 pandemic. No data to make a guess about Covid20 or 21. Biden gonna get that chance to start from zero cases. Hope the old man does better than the old man did. Probably not because Biden is still going to listen to his revered elder Fauci.

Future humans will enjoy the Michael Bay do entary tho

Accounted for less than 3pct of total death even with overcounting by cdc guidelines. Avg age low 80s. Avg comorbidities 3.

Would have been many less if ny wasn't included in the count.

Easiest first step would be to approve the astrazeneca vaccine now instead of waiting for the US arm of the trial to be completed. More peer reviewed data available on it than the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines and it's 100% effective at preventing death from covid. At $3 a dose not much money to be made tho.

Will vaccines stop the new coronavirus strains? Here's what scientists say.
    https://www.advisory.com/daily-brief...irus-mutations

tldr vaccines will continue to work on Covid-19. Covid-21/22 not so much. Biden will get a do-over.

    Called it for months

There will not be a true vaccine

Covid is here to stay. We can hope on better therapeutics and mutations to less lethal versions

If the whole population were children, this would just be another cold.

All the other known corona viruses probably killed a lot of people who had no previous exposure.

    Is what it is.

We still will probably have to adjust our lifestyle permanently, and hopefully have instant tests or even a thermometer type test that can detect virus. That way we can still congregate.

Also once we reach age of 65 might even have to be more careful.

Its nature. Some people will live, some will die. It is what it is I guess

That fever test doesn't work. I never had one.

Agree with the rest. As you age, you are naturally more vulnerable to ANY disease.
