I didn't say their statements don't matter, as a matter of fact I pointed out their statements have a specific target. So why try to crowbar something I didn't say?

They're simply not in control how the virus spreads and mutates. Again, this has happened many times in human history.

We've overcome a lot of diseases, from Tuberculosis to Polio to Rabies. We no longer vaccinate for all those every year, sometimes not at all these days.

We're not there yet with this virus, and I didn't say we wouldn't need to have yearly jabs, just that it's too early to tell.
I dokt think its too early to tell.

When multipl3 CEOs confirm this and lots of epidemiologists also say this its pretty much a done deal.

Prepare that El Salvadorian ass for more shots

CEOs don't matter if we can get a handle on the virus.
It isn't mutating fast enough to warrant an annual vaccine even without having a handle on the virus. Probably going to fully escape antibodies every 3-7 years once we get through the first pass.

The problem is places like Brazil right now, that not only don't have a handle on it, they're getting completely ass-raped by the virus. I feel that it's going to take a while for those places to turn the tide and that gives the virus a festering place to mutate.

So I think it makes sense to wait up and see how all these other places overcome the lack of vaccination and access right now before jumping to conclusions.

by "we get through the first pass" I meant we humans. Yeah the rest of the world is a problem and might speed up the need for a booster in the short term. We won't need an annual shot forever as the CEO's hope.

Luckily for hole USA getting a booster in the fall is not a big deal

White House writes off Johnson & Johnson vaccine
    https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...vaccine-484356

But the outsize attention paid to J&J’s stumbles have frustrated officials who lamented that it’s distracted from the White House’s broader vaccination campaign — and specifically, overshadowed what should have been a triumphant week

    CEOs good then

    CEOs bad now
    Yeah.
Its always one of the two.
I guess there are no characters in Marvel or whatever you are into that are a bit of both.

I did not understand it in the first place.
And we have extra vaccine that is gonna go bad as well.
I know all this production and distribution is super difficult but imo this was a bad call given the present evidence.

I think the pause to review was reasonable. Writing off the vaccine because it overshadowed our political narrative would be unreasonable.

    Hopefully fake news

At least finally found a use for my Zune, my vaccine card popped right up on the screen when I swiped the injection site. Battery isn't supposed to be good for more than 12 months though so will need a booster later on.

Of course it wasn't a good suggestion, you're too emotional to look at hard numbers.

Vaccine will turn this thing into common cold (it is no longer 'novel' to your immune system).

I don't take boosters for common cold corona viruses.

if it is significantly more harmful than the cold, to you and others, then you should probably reconsider

The corona viruses we don't worry about were deadly in the past.
