During Covid-19 vaccine negotiations, the company sought indemnity against civil claims from citizens who had experienced adverse vaccine effects – meaning that the government would have to cover the costs instead.
On Wednesday, the South African health minister, Zweli Mkhize, voiced frustrations about “difficult and sometimes unreasonable” terms his country’s government had been presented with during contract negotiations with vaccine manufacturers including Pfizer.
In a briefing letter sent ahead of his appearance at the parliamentary health committee, Mkhize said one condition in particular demanded by Pfizer was “too risky” – that the country put up sovereign assets as potential collateral.

Pfizer told the Bureau: “Pfizer and BioNTech have no intention of interfering with any country’s diplomatic, military, or culturally significant assets.”
The company required some Latin American governments to put up sovereign assets – which could include federal bank reserves, embassy buildings or military bases – as a guarantee against indemnifying the cost of future legal cases. This was reported by the Bureau in February and picked up by more than 100 media organisations worldwide.

So now I'm reading that a lot of people are skipping the second dose. My question is how long do we have to wear a mask if those that don't want the vaccine don't get it and others just don't bother to complete the series of shots? If the vaccines work, which I believe they do, then I and all the others that have received the jab should be fine. I understand there are still the unvaccinated that truly want it and haven't been able to get it. As well as children that hopefully will be approved to receive it. However, after they are good to go, will we have to continue the mask wearing?
I also think the desire for it has slowed as well because I'm seeing a lot more walk-ins available. I'm just not in the mood to continue with the mask if we're going to be waiting on the hesitant.

A small percentage, but that size and more will persist as the unvaccinated 50% of American adults, who will be spreaders by not wearing masks, keep the pandemic going for years among themselves and among the vaccinateds.
No news yet whether infected vaccinated, who would have mild symptoms, will produce long haulers.

Yeah and they're now investigating a small number of people in Israel with myocarditis and trying to see if it's related to the Pfizer vaccine. So if we have to keep wearing the masks, what's the point of getting a vaccine with potential side effects if we're never going to get out of the pandemic? It's a risk to take the vaccine and it's a risk to not wear the mask. I took the vaccine with the hopes that we can one day return to sense of normalcy. If I have to take a vaccine and wear a mask, might as well just wear the mask and forgo the vaccine.
I actually read most people that did get the first dose are getting the second, the ones that do not are under 10% and some of it has to do with Walgreens ing things up with scheduling.
