Bloomberg helped Duncan with the Virgin Island relief efforts. That meant a lot to him i'm sure and was enough to endorse him.

I'm not down with Bloomberg but I don't think it was a dumb move for Duncan. Like you said Duncan had already gotten relief money out of Bloomberg before endorsing him. I'm sure Bloomberg promised him government money for the VI if he won. Endorsing Bloomberg was a low risk high reward deal for Tim. No one will really remember Tim supporting Bloomberg outside of ST and hardcore fans but the majority will forget or don't even know that he did support Bloomberg.

It's called returning a big favor to someone you found you liked and respected. I doubt Timmy had any nefarious reasons. Just a nice guy
