Poor guy, manager shouldn’t have trotted him out there in the 9th. Opposite situation of the ‘03 Sox where dumbass manager Grady Little pulled Pedro Martinez from a playoff game and the Sox lost right then and there. This time it went horribly wrong in the game/playoff run and Harvey’s career was never the same.

A Mets rotation with Harvey DeGrom Sybdergaard would have been filthy for years, and the Mets would have likely had multiple World Series appearances by now had the manager taken him out and kept to his innings limit (this game they said he was at 200+ when Dr. James Andrews who performed his TJ surgery the previous year said he should be limited to 180 to avoid irreversible damage.

After this year dude had multiple injuries and never regained his velocity.

And if you’re curious about the opposite example where the manager shouldn’t have pulled the guy, look at this video (2003 ALCS game 7) at about the 2 hour mark.

Good thing Grady Little got fired after this, allowing the Sox to finally win a chip the next year.
