are there any odds where its a scenario where portland gets the 8th spot and Spurs get the 9th spot. and memphis is out?
Spurs would have to win out

Grizz would have to go 0-3

Blazers would have to go 1-2

Reggie claiming some teams were apparently upset that the Jazz sat players against the Spurs.

They all know Blazers are toughest matchup for Lakers. Don’t blame them.
This is how I feel about it. It's not even #2 intentionally ing over the Spurs and I say this as someone who hates #2. I really don't get the reason behind getting emotional about this playoff streak. It really means nothing at the end of the day. The 50 win streak was more special to me. Think about it if we got in we are looking at a 90 percent chance of getting swept by the Lakers. These type of series are not fun to watch.

Haven't looked into it but hopefully that's the case. D'Antoni might do us a solid and rest players.
Doubtful. I'm sure he feels like the Spurs cost him one or two les when he was in Phoenix. Horry bump, and all.

Jazz looking solid, probably would've blown us out had they not sat players yesterday.

i had a clear picture of the play in... before considering all the #9 seed contenders.

how some teams approach resting players will end up have a big implications. way bigger than normal.

perfect example: MEM's last game is against MIL.

If that happens the Spurs would actually have the 8 seed (I believe).

Embid Harris Horford should destroy the blazers on the Boards and the Front Court.

If Burks is starting to Ball, they can beat the blazers man.
Would be nice to see Horford have a throwback game.

    Right.

ASSUMING we win out, one more loss from both Phoenix and Portland gives us the 9 seed. 0-3 from Memphis gives us the 8th seed.

this 22 team arrangement has been pretty interesting tbh.

it's more competītive because they basically cut out the shītty teams

I don't get the Giannis love, didn't Kawhi own him in the playoffs last year?
It wasn't really #2 owning Giannis but was more so the Raptors forming the great wall on the defensive end with having #2 guard him but always having Siakam,Ibaka,Gasol in the paint to help with quick double and in some cases triple teams. It reminded me of what the Lakers did to Duncan in '04 when they decided to double team Duncan aggressively with Malone and Shaq on every possession after game 2. #2 is a great defensive player but Gasol/Ibaka are both great interior defenders and Siakam is above average. #2 had a lot of help with those guys. He won't have that type of help if he gets a rematch with Giannis. Clippers have no great interior defenders like the Raptors did.

Its also a back to back, if the Blazers Loose I see it taking the wind out of their sails the rest of the way...

Should be our best shot at seeing a Blazers loss.

    Yes it would because:

    Spurs would have a win% of 0.465

    Blazers win% 0.459

yeah, Brown's kind of an asshole.
He won't be there after this year. He'll get canned if they don't win or at least get to the conference finals. With Ben being out, that's not likely.

i might not mind having the play in regularly.

22 teams make the play ins. cut out the 8 teams that don't have a chance of making it in.

it would be a competītive / exciting scenario every year.

the 8 bad teams could have their own tournament for draft pick order or something instead of playing meaningless regular season games.

No, Memphis has to lose all 3 and spurs have to win all 3 to overcome the grizzlies. One of those 3 games is portland, which means, Spurs would overtake them. So in essence, its the 9th spot against memphis (losing against portland will eliminate spurs) or the 8th spot against any other team that is still in the mix.

I'd like to see it, should've traded for Kawhi when he had the chance tbh.

    Play-in rules:

8th seed only has to win 1 game.

9th seed has to win 2

    We still gotta win
Yeah, odds that we go 1-2 or 2-1, are probably higher than going 3-0, which is a must to even have a chance.

That ing game vs the gotdamn 76er's man...furk!!

The @LAClippers beat the Trail Blazers 122-115, finishing the game on a 12-2 run. Rodney McGruder's 3-pointer with 26.5 seconds left was his first career go-ahead field goal in the final minute of the 4th quarter/OT. The Clippers have won all 3 meetings this season.

if the play in remains going forward then this would make a ton of sense...
22 teams who qualify: play in, then playoffs
8 team who don't qualify: three round, best of three lottery draft pick order tournament (in lieu of the final 8 regular season games)

teams would be motivated to play their best.

it would be additional excitement for every team, every fan.
