nuggets were down 3 and went for a 2, wtf
They didn't give a about the game. Played the subs all the 4th quarter and almost won vs Lebron, Anthony and company.

Assuming Memphis will go 0-2 (BOS and MIL), and Spurs win their next two (otherwise, they dont deserve to go to the PO):

    Phoenix goes 1-1
    Portland goes 1-1
    Spurs 8th, Portland 9th

    Phoenix goes 2-0
    Portland goes 1-1
    Phoenix 8th, Spurs 9th

    Phoenix goes 1-1
    Portland goes 2-0
    Portland 8th, Spurs 9th

    Phoenix goes 2-0
    Portland goes 2-0
    Portland 8th, Phoenix 9th

To sum up, we need Portland or Phoenix to drop at least one game, otherwise, we're done.

Assuming each game is a 50-50 proposition (for simplicity's sake), we only have about a 6% chance of just getting past the assumption part of your analysis.

Then we still need Portland or Phoenix to go .500 or less in their next two games.

It could happen, but the odds are daunting.

I'm confident about Memphis going 0-2, I'm confident about Portland or Phoenix lost at least one, but I'm not so confident the Spurs can win it all..

Porter Jr. is so smooth. If his body holds up, the Nuggets ran away with murder.
There’s some sort of connective tissue genetic defect that runs in his family. His brother is a mess, and he had a sister that also had to quit sports. I think you’re looking at a Brandon Roy career arc, very bright, but short.

The thread le has a date in it, and on that date, a week ago, they did control their destiny, then, DJ dribbled into traffic late against Philly, caused a bad possession, and we lost to them by 1.

There's a fun little fantasy scenario. Memphis has to go 0-2, Spurs have to go 2-0. THEN Phoenix wins their last two... and the Spurs win the privilege of needing to win two in a row against the hottest team in the bubble. So that they can meet the Lakers in the first round of the most ed up playoffs in history.

"AND keep our playoff streak alive. If you don't understand that, you're just ignorant."

It's the ideal scenario -- the Spurs either make the playoffs for the record 23rd year in a row or they move up to 10 in the draft. Say goodbye to Mr. In Between.

A really nice high drama (but no-lose) game (or two).

Spurs in uphill odds with all the playoff teams now resting players so those still trying to get in and at full strength are going to win.

of all this tie breaking scenarios and playoff chances, these 2 things bother me most

    1) that we might miss out on playoffs because we played less games then the teams above us and
    2) that forbes not only started all year but played 25+mpg every game. awful coaching. hes the definition of addition by subtraction.

Some are mentioning the Celtics might have incentive to beat Grizz today because they own the Grizz's 2020 draft pick.

Makes sense. While the West 8-13 teams' records for draft purposes were fixed before the bubble starts, the Celtics don't want the Grizz to make the playoffs and have that pick drop to #15 or 16.

Tobias Harris (right ankle soreness) and Al Horford (left knee soreness) are both out for today's game. #sixers.

Josh Richardson (rest), Joel Embiid (left ankle) and Ben Simmons (surgery) were previously ruled out. That means Shake Milton is the lone starter still available.

I think technically the Spurs are alive even if POR/MEM/PHO all win today, but getting to the play-in would require POR and PHO each losing their final game. SA has to beat UTA no matter what.

POR plays BKN in their final game, which should be a cakewalk for POR. SA's best chance to pass them is for them to lose to DAL today.

It's the opposite for PHO: they should get an easy win today but has to play DAL in their final game.

BOS has every incentive to try hard against MEM to keep them out of the playoffs (BOS owns MEM's first-round pick). MEM plays MIL in their final game, though, and MIL will have nothing to play for at that point.

The Spurs making the play-in is a longshot at this point. The best chance is to have DAL beat both POR and PHO. They have something to play for: if they can get to #6 they will get an easier matchup vs DEN instead of vs LAC. DAL beating both POR and PHO and SA beating UTA makes this happen. It would be UTA 43-29 (0.5972 win%), DAL 45-30 (0.6000 win%).

Suns are a solid bet to blow an easy win at the end to make the playoff game. It’s the Suns type thing to do
